Just wanted to drop a quick question to you guys. I have a large expanse of wall behind my couch and think I want to do a large abstract for the space. What grounds would be suitable for something of that magnitude (maybe 5 feet wide by whatever tall)? Of course there is canvas but I have never experimented with anything else; always hear of the Renaissance chaps using gessoed panel and such but my main concerns with this project are 1) that it hangs safely (not too heavy) and 2) that the ground doesn't warp due to the dampness of acrylic paints.
I have painted on gessoed masonite for a small piece and it seemed good. Well anyway, all insights are appreciated.
