Here's a story for you:
Tonight, about two hours ago, me, my mother and my father were sitting out in the garden watching some fireworks. (our neighbours about three houses down always put on a big show and their entire family comes around on the fourth, so that their fireworks don't have to compete with the other houses. They're kinda loud, but so are we sometimes and no one makes a fuss).
So anyway, were just sitting there, talking about our day - you know, general family talk - When we hear some screaming from the house down the road, before I know what's happening, there's a loud thud as a pretty large firework lands in a flower pot on the patio (about two meters away from where we are sitting).
You can guess what happens next: It goes off like a fucking hand grenade, blowing up the pot and throwing shrapnel all over the garden, some of it hit me (I was closest to it) and I have a big cut up my arm, (its all bandaged up and antiseptic-ed now of course).
Our ears are ringing and we have no idea what's going on at this point, and there's more screaming from up the road, within a minute, there is a knock at the door that turns out to be our white faced neighbours, practically crying apologies. My mum is ranting about calling the police while I'm sat there with blood all down my arm and my dad is trying to calm them all down.
In the end the police weren't called and it's all died down just now, I felt like I needed to tell someone and this was the first community I thought of.
Have any of you had negative fireworks night experiences?
