It's been awhile since I posted here, for various reasons. They were all stupid and unimportant, so I'm back and I want to get better.
I doodled this during class a month or so ago and want to make it a full illustration:
It's not very good, but that's why I'm here. I loaded it into Photoshop, upscaled it so I could have a large print, and drew over it, correcting a few anatomy mistakes I noticed. I started sketching in the first girl's hair in grayscale and realized that I had never done any satisfiable value work in the past:
The actual size of the PSD is 5000x3675 (or 3625--I can't remember). Before I do anything more, what can I do with the concept to make it better? After that, how do I go about grayscale shading it? Do I just use an opacity-sensitive brush and spam the color picker? Or is there a more professional way?
Any critiques are greatly appreciated. I know I don't have to say this, this being Conceptart, but please be honest and don't hold back.
