Here's one of my last full color traditional illustrations before I started moving towards digital media.
It's called "Blood's Chimera" and it's about coming to terms with all aspects of your family. Every family has it's strengths and weaknesses, members who are honored and some who are infamous or pitiable. I thought of a family as a whole as a chimera of sorts, and represented in this living, monstrous heraldry.
I'm curious whether people think it's worth it to work with things like watercolor, gouache and ink these days (time management issues aside). I am starting to integrate digital paint and photomontage onto very basic watercolor/monotype sketches to mixed effect, see the sketchbook thread.
I'll keep posting stuff here as I finish it, I'm rounding out my portfolio in the next couple weeks in preperation for a website update.
