Hi there, its nice to see someone at your age wanting to dedicate to your career,
first I would say definitely work on your structure, and perspective, your work is very flat
this is a great book for drawing , bridgeman's life drawing from life, and figure drawing
most importantly have fun
Je sais pas pourquoi , aujourd'hui j'aime parler en français... donc... le post sera écris en français.
KrispyKream - Merci beaucoup,monsieur!!
Alors, aujourd'hui seulement des choses digitaux , desolé .
et voilà -
Le projet et deux screencaps
le dernier c'est un wip ou en français -tep

Dude, Chameleon's eye is fuckin' weird. >_>
First of all , Happy New Year everyone!!!!
My new year resolution - draw at least 300 aketchbook pages , at least 175 digital paintings, get good grades , read at least 10 books , write at least 3 songs.
ok so here are some sketchbook pages , i's got more but they're too boring.
the last one is of sketches i did for a friend's wall , he was getting it painted and wanted me to make him some totem poles and he really likes drum 'n bass , so that explains the designs (he wanted only the bottom part , since the top one was already made)
I managed to finish the contest with expelliarmus before new year's midnight with seconds to spare - that explains why the last two look like shit
random "middle of the night with nothing to do" guy
and a wip i'm going to need some of you people's advice on(critics ofcourse needed and encouraged)... holes or no holes , the ones done on the left are made in like 30-40 secs just to show pretty much what it would look like.
Here's a close up of the no hole head
Happy 2012 everybody!!!

maan this scaner shit really bugs me.Evereything looks so much worse and out of shape after being scanned.Any suggestions?

Hey, you are very dedicated! if you keep up with this pace you'll be unstoppable. :o
Unfortunatly i dont know much about scanners, there are however lots of tutorials online on how to clean a scanned drawing.
I think you need to watch your proportions. The first chapter in figure drawing for all its worth explains this best.
Yes you are very dedicated indeed! Right now I'm still trying to figure out which direction you are trying to go. But surely keep practicing the fundamentals! Do a lot of figures like you are doing(but maybe even more!) =)
MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS--->http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=207321
did some more stuff on that last sketchbook page
then some more sketchbook pages with some compositional ideas
aaaand the full set of skull studies with some light practice...

Thank you for visiting my sketchbook!
You are improving so fast, I can see from your studies and paintings that you seem to have a good eye for colour. The only thing I would say is the same things that others have said, work on the structure of the figure but you seem to already be doing that so....
I guess just keep going!
Just looked over your sketchbook. You've got a really good start happening with a mix of studies, original characters and ref'ed schtuff.
No strong crit...except encouragement to keep all that coming...and perhaps add in more of drawing/painting from references/life.
As the quote in my signature says...you can't [draw] what you don't know.
So understanding human faces/bodies, animals etc will allow you to create details in your original characters that will really help them "come to life".
Ciao fer now
Hey rastaray, really good pieces!
I especially like your animal eye studies!
Keep it up
Risen from the Dead
Jephyr X - Thanks a lot man! Will definetely do more life studies and stuff from reference.I'm actually signing up for a life drawing course with models and stuff, so will help me a lot for sure.Feel free to come back and leave a crit once in a while
the destroyer - Thanks,dude!
Ok, so this evening all i was listening was the dwarf's song (Misty Mountains) from the Hobbit's trailer looped.Maaaaaan I can't wait for that movie to come out...
anyway , here's some animal studies from tonight

I've gone through this sketchbook at least four times thinking I've commented and then realizing I still haven't XD
Holy crap, man, are you really 17? I wish I was -half- as motivated as you are when I was your age (okay... that made me sound old). You have a great sketchbook here. First of all, great figure studies--visible improvement since your earlier posts. Plantman and the zombie face are looking great, too (particularly the zombie--great use of both warm and cool colors. That's something that I'm trying to work on myself).
And the fish guy is looking great. I will say that as much as I like the colors and general rendering on him, you could definitely push your range of values a bit more. Unless you're specifically aiming for a diffuse, ambient lighting scheme, having some darker shadows will really help to show off the form. On an anatomy note, he looks great (especially the legs), although you might want to check the position of his pectorals--they seem slightly out of alignment with his sternum.
On a more general note (and this is something you're improving on, so keep up the good work) your faces look good, but they can sometimes look a little same-y in terms of structure (it's a bad habit of mine, too, so I'm also guilty <<). It might help to do studies of faces from photos and life, really paying attention to the various structures (facial features, cheekbones, jawline, etc.) that make a given face look the way it does. It couldn't hurt to also do some studies of the skull and the muscles that lie under the skin of the face. Once you learn the constituent parts of the face, you'll know what parts to vary and how in order to make a face look just the way you want it to.
Sometimes I type a lot. Anyway, hope that helps. Keep the awesome work coming!
Cool sketchbook rastaray! I'm really loving the pencil work. Your digital is improving too, so I don't know what to say except keep up the good work!
~Meps - Thanks a lot man! For the character thing , I wasn't really focusing on it as a whole composition , more than a color and design practice.I will do those face studies , thanks
~Sycra - Hey , thanks for swinging by , dude!
So that's all worth showing for now , another character design ( not that design-y as to whatever popped in to my head ) didn't bother to clean up the lines.Doesn't seem to bother me that much but i guess it's necessery. ... will come back with more stuff soon though , don't lose hope in me
