My whole life I have dreamed of getting paid to draw. Strangely enough somewhere along the line life got in the way. I got married. Got a respectable job that pays the bills and the pencils got pushed to the side. Just recently I had a childhood friend pass away which seemed to be the wake up call I needed. Life is too short to not be doing what you love. I have probably drawn maybe 3-4 pictures total in the last 2 years. Once I did pick the pencils back up I realized one thing. Although I have been drawing my whole life and got good at drawing some things..I never took the time to MASTER the fundamentals needed to become a professional. I am starting this sketchbook/journal for a few reasons to motivate myself by seeing my progress...to try to network with a great online community and to hopefully be good enough in a year to be able to do art professionally. Please feel free to offer advice, support, or critiques. Now it's time to draw, draw, draw and hopefully a year from now I I am more well rounded and am doing art for a living.

Anatomy Anatomy Anatomy. Sums up the last few days. Here is some muscle structure I have been working on.
Hey nice start! I really like that blue dude you drew. The rendering looks wonderful. I also like the muscle studies you did. I know what you mean about life being too short and you need to do what you love. I'm not particularly great at art but it is what I love to do so I'll pursue it no matter what. Who knows maybe someday I'll be as good as the masters.
