pls don't go generalizing, we have a bunch of awesome folks here, some are educated academically, others - through private tutoring
Book Guru and her following are classical examples of St. Petersburg art school fellas - a bunch of whining assholes, majored in artistic self-esteem inflation and generally not making living off their art skills (and not utilizing their hard earned degrees either). They don't generally seek employment in game development/concept art industry (even given the small size of it in Russia), and I don't really understand why this person chose conceptart.org as a place to share her issues with the world in general and more successful painters specifically.
I'm really curious what's her main occupation is as well, I suspect she's a fulltime housewife by day, part-time
drama llama online store keeper in her spare time, but that's just assumptions.
She has some valid points, but her general attitude reeks of an art business loser who hasn't fit in by now and won't make it later.

I'm not sure if you're being sincere about Samuev, or trying to balance this thread and provide some emotional support to Book Guru.
