And I'm up for the 12th - where you all meeting? (please not starbucks, please not starbucks)
Would you settle for Dirk benedict instead?
Wow I had no idea this was here!
I've been desperate to actually meet some better UK artists for ages now, but never thought there might be something in the forums! Actually I found this thread after following SummerPuddings 'find all posts by this user' search coz I wanted to see more of his work after those amazing Lovecraft inspired paintings he did. Do you guys have regular meet ups? If so, when and where do they take place? Can anyone attend?
Thanks! Look forward to any replies!
Welcome to the forums, space-sprayer Yup, anyone can attend the meet-ups - just bring a sketchbook and pencil!
Meet information can ALWAYS be found in my signature, and I tend to post in this thread a lot so I shouldn't be too hard to find. Otherwise, go to the UK thread in CA 3.0 (takes a while to find, mind)
Tekura: Was talking to Adam ([void]) last night and we thought about meeting up in the V&A, or outside it, if the weather's fine. Is everyone cool with that? Please post suggestions. If most people want to visit a specific museum/gallery/exhibition then we'll go with that.
SPEAK UP, PEOPLE!!
Naomi - cool, V&A it is....tho, ya know, the National Galleries a pretty cool place to go to, lots of Valezquez, Carrivaggio and Rubens paintings in there(woth a look, I was there the other day); theres also The NAtional Portrait Gallery next to it, which would be cool to go visit, see some portraits, old and new(so worth a look too) etc etc.... plus its in Trafalgar square (and if the weathers good) you can hang outside and draw people....
The V&A's nice an all; your most likely gonna end up in the Large Cast room where the statues are.....
I vote the Nation Gallery.... (just a thought)
3.0 is a kwappy piece of *(^&(&(%(%

How do you say it.
this CA Uk thread on some days requires 5-6 refreshes...just to load.....
now, try logging into 3.0 .

The link in my sig works fine, just bookmark it or something But yeah, other threads are shite - they hardly ever load. What's going on, eh??
Tekura: Cool, National Gallery sounds better in terms of activity - plenty to do around the area. Rightoooooo, that's the meeting place sorted.
I already noted to meet up around 10am-12pm, as some of us have to travel from a fair distance. If you think you're gonna be late, call one of us to let us know so we don't wander off without you! IM me if you want my number.
Chee, you going?
Rich: TheBrave was spot on. Just show your best and speak honestly of yourself with confidence. I have faith in ya, anyway
Tully: Dawh! Well, I will be around on the weekend as well (14th and 15th I think?) so we could work something out. Other than the meetup of the 12th, nothing is set in stone for me. The only downside is that I'll have no cell phone access so we;ll have to make plans a lil in advance via email. mmmm, WiFi...
Quick: Thank you so much for pulling all of this together Big hugs for you when I see you!
If everyones heading to the national i might give it a miss and meet you guys later, i go there once a week to draw anyway so i might just have a lay in and catch everyone later.
meet looks like it should be a good one though.
hmmmm, I might be a possible atendee, I've been saying for ages that I'll come to one, but this might just be it, it is in the holidays isn't it?
Blarg, why does my interview have to be on the next day of the meet. I Should still be going though with abit of luck, I cant this one!
Would anyone mind giving me a practice interview of some kind to prepare?
As long as I dont get stuck in london ill be fine
Nick if you go to the lounge its a subcatagory under the local artists thread at the top of the page, normaly floating around the top somewhere. You can just subscribe to save time and access it from your user cp page.
if 12th is a weekday, then only after work...

I'm going to be an attendee, I think. So, er, could I be put on the list?!
And also, as it says the location is the national gallery, what are the plans for the rest of the day, and more specifically, what do you guys usually do in these meets?#
Oh and a big welcome to Atmospheria!!!1, maybe you should come to the meet man, that'd be awesome!
its usually a visit somewhere ( like the gallery ) for some drawing and studies, then we end up going somewhere else for some food, somewhere to sit etc ( usually nandos hehe, and depending on the weather sometimes sit outside and draw, previous ones ive been to we sat in the park, and sat in trafalgar square later Im guessing itll be something along these lines again?
Cool, sounds like fun.
it's set for the 12th yeah? thats a thursday - which is fine by me, but doesnt that restrict the attendance of some of those crazy people in real employment???
Gee i hope it's gonna be as much fun as Pete's leaving do, which was intriguingly enjoyable despite its obviously sad connections to the departure of my bestest buddy Pete to the far north.

Work harder!! - Millions on welfare are relying on you.
Hey! Thanks for the warm welcome. Well, yea, visiting a museum or gallery to draw would be easier but i'm looking for actual models to draw.
Thanks for the link molly, i'll check that out.
About meetings, that would be ok for me if you guys meet up at the weekends. Work days are not suitable for me. So any weekend after 16 mankeymankeymankeymankeymankey is ok for me.
yeah.why do they always choose a poxy weekday like thursday. beats me.
Guys, I started organising this AGES ago - if you wanted a different date then you should've said so earlier. Feel free to organise a weekend meet amongst yourself - I'm just trying to arrange a time which is convenient for those who have to travel.
