Hey all. I've been at this piece for a while now, and I'm somewhat happy with how it's turning out...except for the character. She looks too manga/anime-inspired, both in her proportions and her outfit. The entire piece is supposed to be set in a sort of Victorian-era Europe (although I admit, in doing my research I borrowed elements of Gothic architecture and Rococo paintings). The character herself is referencing a person I know, and those are based off clothes that she would actually wear.
I kinda want to keep her silhouette the same, but I need to get away from this anime/manga feel she's got. The curse of drawing in that style all through high school continues to haunt me, despite my studies from live models and photography. Any tips on how to push the character away from the obvious manga influences?
