I've finally decided to post some sketches as I've been poking around here for about a year and have gotten some great tips and information.
I've drawn pretty much since elementary school but only sporadically - I'll get the drawing bug for a few months or more and then lose interest - usually from getting frustrated at my bad attempts at drawing the human figure.
Over the years I didn't realize the time and commitment required to get good at this craft. So now being older and wiser I've decided over the last couple of years to go balls out and teach myself to draw the human figure.
I've only ever used pencils so I really want to branch out into colors, both traditional and digital. My plan is to get my drawing with graphite down nice and tight and then get into using colors. Painting digitally first is enticing since I use photoshop daily as a retoucher but I really want to work with traditional media first.
I am starting this sketchbook for some feedback and a way to get me to stick with it!
Here are some of my gesture and figure drawings from the past year...I don't have access to live models right now so these are from online posing sources...
Thanks for any and all critiques and advice!
