FOUNDATIONS/ Figure 2: Constructive Figure Drawing and Creating the Human Form from Imagination
Figure 2: This unique and in-depth class features costumed and nude models shot with very high quality cameras and lighting as well as anatomy drawings from the masters and photos from the skeleton. An innovative approach is used, combining two methods which together, this class will give students a better understanding on how to create from imagination. The student will learn how to develop and use anatomy knowledge in order to build the human figure with a sculptural approach, creating rich three dimensional work based in perspective and emotive gesture sketching. These techniques can then be translated into every aspect of drawing, design, and painting.
Participants will learn to stress the character and of the figure, they are drawing on paper while articulating anatomy, in order to strengthen the soul and life in the image being created. Action and dynamic poses will be stressed. Media: graphite, charcoal, digital media, and pastel.
Students will be able to see demonstrations, presentations and get feedback on their work both Live and On Demand, allowing for total schedule flexibility.

Elements from this class are required foundations for all future artwork created by TAD students. Armed with this knowledge, students will be able to identify what is wrong with their own work, and will strengthen their ability to create cohesive and unified images. This essential class cultivates an artist's ability to createfigures which contain purposeful moods and helps to give emotional impact to their works from imagination, reference and life.
With a full body of constructive figure theory, compiled over years of studying with renown painters, illustrators, and entertainment developers and a decades of work and research by Marshall Vandruff, TAD students will see rapid improvement in their works during and after this valuable class.
