This is what it looks like when James draws
Watch with sound
sweet character development dude, can't wait to see you pumping out some more polished work.
Really liking all your stuff. You have a nice sense of anatomy and you know how to twist that to your liking. But you seem to be drawing the same thing again and again; Muscle men, faces, and environments. Yeah, there's some other stuff peppered in now and again, but that's pretty much it. Don't let yourself get caught in a comfort zone, push your limits and try new things.
@AleMent:Thanks.Variety of subject matter is some I definitely need to work on.
Now on to the Update!

@Tepo.Thanks this is the brush pen I use.
A character sheet.
Sketchbook stuff including some character development sketches for bard.
Cool stuff, James. Those bears and bots area great concept .
I would say slow down and try to clean up your linework. Try to get a more solid
sense of forms and especially overlaps. You're leaving a lot of gaps that are letting the
form run away.
Practice making your lines more smooth and confident, it may be boring , but it pays off!
Also, even though I did say slow down...POST MORE WORK
sketchbook...a kitten dies every time you don't comment
“When forced to work within a strict framework,
the imagination is taxed to its utmost – and will
produce its richest ideas. Given total freedom,
the work is likely to sprawl.”
- TS Eliot
i think you should totally check out the animated series of 'Cat Shit ONE'. lots of cool and 'cute' anthro animals with guns! haha. but really, these are awesome updates lately! do i spot a big boss kitty cat in post #65? haha
dude those bear characters are looking awesome. Bit of research and ta da, further character development. Lol at the bear smoking... Smoky the Bear? I wonder what their names will be, hmm.
@BludHund.Thanks for the critique!
@teapo.I read the mange last year but kind of forgot about it so I think it was kind of a unconscious influence.
@Jeremy Swan.Names? not something I thought of.
Lightening never strikes the same place twice...
neither does a ninja!.
Some ninja head paints doing these to get better at painting
1st about 1hr
2nd 2hr maybe
Wooooow you must go through pencils like no other love the amount of diversity in your characters, especially the faces, awesome looking pencil work man.
(Insert witty remark here)
those paints are hot to trot, you'll be bad ass ninja at painting in no time
@Adamsimons. It's clear to me now!
@Just Call Me Bruce!. There are ninjas and there are chipmunks, and that is a chipmunk!
@Jeremy Swan.Maybe I'm such a good ninja I don't even know it :0
Been kind of lazy this week so not much to post
Don't really know what I'm doing with this one
lumber what? lumber jack! great stuff man. maybe spend a little longer on your studies, see if you get anything out of pushing them to have a little more form. you will obviously but, ya know just saying . hope that helps... PEACE!!
Cool beans in here. Dig your drawings and your studies look pretty darn good. All of the MMA photo studies have really helped your figure construction. I also dig your tech work as well, tanks, vehicles etc. Those soviet bear troopers on post #70 are hilarious as well.
Keep up the hard work, it's paying off!
