You're on, good sir.
Edit: Oh my god, that was horrible.
But never the less, I'll keep at it! YEAHHH!
I just cannot help but notice Ganon's beautiful face
Are your drawings darker in person?
I want to suggest putting in some darker marks but it could just be the scanner. I need to edit the drawings I scan in to make them darker.
Looking forward to seeing that still life you you were speaking of, good luck!
Good start! I know it's painful but you have to eat your greens. You'll soon learn to love it, it's like a puzzle that has to be solved.
Now make sure on your next attempt you don't go for a flat on view like an orthographic drawing. I want to see at least two sides of the object. Ch-ch-ch-challenge!
You can do eeeeeeet!!!
Haha sorry I'm a little nuts this morn....Afternoon.
Woah, I forgot some replies.
And whilst I do them I have a tiny update. Trying to get use to doing smooth lines, I didn't pay much attention to anatomy. derp.
Bethany K: Och, thank you!
Equilerex: Aha! I was just lazily trying to do that style Meme on DA, where everyone's pictures all look identicle on every single square.
Funny thing about anime.
I used to draw like this:
DESSUUUUUUUUUU NE~ n_n
SendEnd: Yeah, I'm drawing a fair bit darker IRL, but gran's scanner doesn't like me. I will however draw a little darker whilst I'm here to make things clearer.
Mr.Man: Noooo, it wasn't a good start xD I /know/ I can do better than that! I was doing all sorts of primary school errors, I'll do better on the next, Just you wait and see.
Ahhh, your lines are gorgeous. XD
Post more! Your faces are cute, haha.
Better already with the line change! much more slick. The next test would be to vary the weight while doing it, using lost and found edges. Don't worry about that yet though but keep it in mind for the future.
James Jean is a good example for line weight. http://blog.brainstormoverload.com/w...es-jean-02.jpg
The figure with "what" inside the leg is crackin. Was that ref? More! Those gestures show potential!
Hehe sorry I've noticed I seem to sound very demanding.
I should draw some over the top chibi anime like that for fun lol. Actually that chracter saying "I prefer to paint in the nude" reminds me of this one successful artist that apparently paints everything with his penis according to a friend of mine
What the fuck!
As for the scanner, I tend to just auto tone what I scan in, see?
Good morning, good morning!
I'll be spending several hours down in Belfast, but I'll try to (somehow) get some art done whilst I'm there.
Mr.Man: Ah yes! I've noticed I've been doing my lines all a similarly, I'll keep working at it. I must say, trying to do lines neatly is more fun than I thought.
SenEnd: If I was a man, I'd do the same. rofl. xD
Thanks for the tip, though I completely forgot to check if I could change the scanner's settings. It doesn't actually work on my laptop, so I have to do some weirdly overcomplex routine to get anything up. But I'll see what I can do.
Only have a small update of a small painting I did. I know I buggered up the body and I ended up doodling on the right of it, but hey, it was fun.
So,.. without any ref? O_O
AWESOME! No crits from me Just keep practicing and posting!
Help me improve my drawing skills by commenting my sketchbook
Kinda want to see you do a full on portrait or something?
I've come to recognise you by your creative style but since we see less figurative life drawings it makes me more curious of them
Keep up the work effort! Its damn impressive
I choked on laughter at the Chuck Norris in a washing machine a page ago. ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME
Thank you for the birthday wishes lovely Naidy. Your sketchbook is nice and all your little characters make me pretty happy!
What an overwhelming lesson to all artists! Be not afraid of absurdity; do not shrink from the fantastic. Within a dilemma, choose the most unheard-of, the most dangerous, solution. Be brave, be brave! - Isak Dinesen
Sulphur, I'm ashamed to say I googled the definition of figurative life drawings. *shame* But yeah, I do need to practice moar realism. Thanks for the support, mate.
Gutss: I don't regret asking friends what to draw, because it always ends up being something crazy. xD BLAME THEM.
Surion: Aha, I'm terrible at making myself use reffs. xD and most of my update is non reffed too. lol
:wasp: Anyways, here's what I doodled today. :wasp:

Hey Naidy, you got yourself a very unique style! Neat drawing, beautiful faces.
Your style remind me of someone's... any artwork you like that influenced your own style?
I looked at so many pages to figure out where are you at. Just get theIven: Well, I'm quite flattered you took the time to look through so many pages. xD I'm sure I've seen this box technique, I'll try them out!
Drawing Manual from this guy: http://www.vilppustudio.com/
And the BOX might me with you. Look at my first pages from
my SB specially the HANDS/ heads you can see how I improved.
I'm back, I'm back!
Many apologies, I only just found my long lost camera today.
Worry not my comrades, I am not just here to spam pictures of myself, I have done LOADS of pictures (considering my homework/work load) here are a few.
Now onto replies! *cracks knuckles*
InsaneLight: Thank you! Ahaha, I was just messing around with blue pens tbh, but I'm glad you like it. xD
Equilerex: Och, you're way too kind mate. xD I always spam drawings during the holidays.
Qlotzan: Ahaha, don't worry, I wasn't actually sad. I'm not really easy to depress. xD
SenEnd: Right you are. SOmething I REALLY have to get into doing. I'd do it in school, but most of my breaks/frees sixthformers are too busy trying to sexually hurrass eachother.
The lonsesome Blues: Thank you! Uhm, In my younger years my only real influences were anime/ celtic knotts/ Brian Froud. I've been looking at Lautrec and Mucha lately, but that hasn't changed my style. xD
aks9: Greetings, dear n00b. Seems like we're both doing well.
Iven: Thank you for the link! I'll be sure to make myself do moar boxythings.
LtPlissken: And seems Like I'm back now! ahaha

hey, shes back!
nice glasses! they came with "cute x2" attribute?
the drawings are nice to look at, youre developing your style real nice! cant really say anything constructive anymore since they wouldnt be quite the same without all the funky shading, shapes and perspective. though i must say they are getting much more life-like and quite characteristic- the practice sure helps. cant wait to see some finished pieces or more comics
I'm gonna have to start working at your pace, ain't I? Oh dear...
I'm also one for turning out tons of faces in my doodles; but not in that quantity, and not in that quality. Need to do more drawing from life, I suspect....
Love the (hair!?!) sack of heads in your last bunch of uploads. Thanks for taking the time to put all these up here. Inspirational.
Thumbs up on the glasses and the drawings
For the comic, story board you drew I think communicating that guys expression in the first panel as we see the girl would be more effective then breaking them up like that. Felt it kinda broke up the narrative idk.
Guy is looking at sick girl. Guy is sad.
Guy sadly looks at sick girl.
Thats all I have for thoughts!
Equilerex: Thank you, thank you! xD Aha, I've finally been actually practicing via posemaniacs so my bodies can keep up with my faces (I do way too many faces).
E.Silva: Aha! I absalutely love drawing faces, they're such an interesting subject I'm surprised not everyone's doodling them all the time.
Life drawings would be great for you, even if you can't manage to get anyone to sneak-draw you can always do selfportraits.
Yes, you have to draw atleast three pages a day. ATLEAST. Really, maybe twice that, and some more.
SenEnd: Ah, I was thinking I'd messed up the composition of the comic a little. This is why I have to PLAN before I draw in pen. xD
I'm definently going to have another go, thanks for the input, mate.
Right, I'll probably have more stuff up after school so I bid you all farewell till then.
