Well this is long overdue, I should have been posting on this site and getting crits since at least a year ago but I guess better late than never right?
I've been drawing as a hobby for like 10 years now but since it was only a hobby and I only drew whatever whenever I didn't improve nearly as much as I should have in that timespan. I also didn't really have access to the best resources during that time, too much anime, not enough fundamentals. I had a major breakdown from the end of highschool until like 2012 because I didn't know what I really wanted to do in life, got into two majors I wasn't prepared to commit 100% to and am actually on the third atm XD but it's ok because I found out what I really wanted to do was just draw (and maybe someday I'll also be a passable painter as opposed to just being terrible like I am atm); I'm generally a pretty lazy person, but drawing has been the one thing I have actually been able to be somewhat serious and put real effort into so I can't see myself doing anything else. I just have to juggle drawing time with university stuff until I can get out, then I'll probably get a temporary job and just work on my mileage until I can go pro. Not sure what specific field of art I want to go into, but I guess I can figure that out as I go along (well I probably won't be going into fine art, I get enough of that in my current major lol). To be honest I'm pretty fortunate, I live in Brazil so if I didn't speak english fluently I wouldn't have access to all these amazing resources like books, YY videos, CA, etc, which makes everything so much easier. The rest is all practice.
I'll try to update this as often as possible, hopefully I can stop being lazy and actually scan my drawings since most of my practice is there. Obviously I'd REALLY appreciate any advice/critique you guys have to give.
Quick painting I did, I got too far in before I realized I messed up the ear's positioning ):
Some fanart I did a few weeks ago...I don't really have a good grasp of how to blend yet so it looks a bit sloppy
Inking practice...applying line weight is hard ):
