I get that you're trying to be kind to others but you continuously misunderstand what's going on here. A group of people is trying to get the rest of the world to believe what they do and a smaller portion of that group is trying to do it by physical force. I am not a Muslim. The rules that apply to Muslims do not apply to me. But to them, and people like you with an unwarranted apologetic attitude, I am to follow their rules and not draw a picture.

So it's not about me being an asshole and hurting feelings. It's about a group infringing on my right of free speech to draw anything Muhammad, even if I did if it were very pious.
And freedom is a universal right of every human. And if you're going to get mad at that and say something like "Well what if people don't want that right?" then there is no hope for you. I'm not really sure what your background is but I would then suggest you look into the recent civil rights history of the US to understand just how important rights are and why we don't give them up for others.
