Hi guys, I'm 24 years old 3d character animator wannabe. Now, I know that drawing is not necessarily required for doing computer animation but I want to learn it anyway. I was drawing when i was a kid simply because it was fun, but then at age 12 or so I realized that I have no talent and I quit which was probably the worst thing I could do. So I have no art background at all, but I want to have some background in traditional media (drawing in particular, I'm not interested in painting). I've watched Villpu's figure drawing videos - gesture, spherical forms, box forms - drawings that he is doing in front of the class from his mind in few minutes are just so beautiful - I want to be able to draw like that. I did some gesture drawing from photos (characterdesigns.com) but they are very flat, out of proportions, and not expressing action at all. I have plenty of time to learn and don't want to waste it. Maybe it's too early for stuff like Villpu's course? Do you have any advices for complete newbie like me who wants to learn figure drawing? Which books to read first? How to practice? What to draw? I will be grateful for any advices.
Ps. Sorry for my English.
