You sure its a cold?!
not a cold! master study makes you a boss btw
JamesSimons: Beep Beep boop beep, that's cool!
adamsimons: I've never done that!
p sage: It's not my name but on the internet it will do fine
Naidy: It's a kneaded eraser and a quick study of this very nice painting *thumbs up*
Jeremy Swan: It's not a cold anymore and the bit about me being boss is probably the most sense I've seen on the internet in awhile
teapo: maybe two more hours and I'll start the colour/rendering so next week it'll have some colour The secret project is just a Bday present and I'm running a bit behind (was meant to be done this morning and probably wont be done till tonight) but I'll post it when it's done!
Spent this week on my Birthday present for one of my sisters and the master study so the sketchbook is mainly warm up stuff again but I've got to really get back into it this week so hopefully I'll have a bit more to show!
Master study is now at 23 hour
...T-twenty three hours?
Give me that attention span, damnit.
Anyways. As always I enjoy your sketches, buuuuut, I want more darks in them. I have to squint like a bat to appreciate them. Other than that, we're gold. Keep it up Keep it up Keep it up Keep it up Keep it up YEAH!
Hey broseph, you've been up to some solid work as of late! I liked your hand studies on the past page, and your master copy is looking solid. Good attention to form and construction. I also like the facial studies you've been up to, everything is coming together very well! No crits, just keep on crankin' that lead...!
JamesSimons: Not long enough!
adamsimons: I'll be mad by the end but it should be worth it!
Naidy: It's not that hard I usually only work on it an hour at a time, you just have to make the decision that you're going to take the time to get it right
teapo: I know and I've got a long way to go now that it's time to paint it
AustenFM: Thanks man! Will defiantly keep at it!
Didn't do as much on my master study as I spent nearly three days extra on my Bday present for one of my sisters. I can reveal, I was making a Tardis box! and it was three days late but she liked it so it was worth it
I also have to work out what I need to be doing now to really start taking some serious steps forward!
Cardboard + glue + paint + alittle frustration + overtime = Tardis box!
Master study is at 29 hours. drawing was finished at 26 so I've only spent 3 on the paint.
adamsimons: ¡Will do!
p sage: Thanks!
Naidy: ¿Cad ar domhan? Thanks I think!
Still trying to figure out what I want to do/mainly drawing this week!
Put some more time into my master study, I'm at 37hr now
I'm painting it now which means I have to figure out how to paint! so it's going to be awhile before I finish this thing.
Master study at the usual 16% and a 50% detail of where I'm working at the moment.
good work on the study so far!
— From Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke."You are so young, so much before all beginning, and I would like to beg you, dear Sir, as well as I can, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”
Tumble weed rolls by...!
adamsimons: True that!
JamesSimons: That's really manly, Danke!
Most of my time this week was spent on the little illustration I did and my master study.
The Illustration I did! + the studies I did for it
Master study at 44hr now
just the 50% as I haven't worked outside that area yet!
oh man~ real beautiful hand/head studies (esp. #152). the progress on the master study is going well. i'm glad you're taking time on it-- you really make me want to do a master study with this much time investment. perhaps i will start on one
you are progressing quickly !! keep drawing and let's keep each other on our toes
JamesSimons: I'm not quite sure what to make of that just yet!
adamsimons: a long way to go!
teapo: Thanks man! It's a lot of work but the time has to be put in eventually. They might get a bit sore but I think my toes are ready
Not much of anything this week, a lot of fly from one thing to another and not really spending any time on one thing.
I tried an exercise in failing, which was to do a self portrait every morning, about an hour each. It was my fault that they failed but my set up and morning brain didn't help plus it's really hard to do any measuring from a mirror if it's needed! I'm thinking of starting a digital still life in place of the portraits this week!
The Self Portraits
Detail of where I've been working @66% manly on the guys face!
I had something to say but I lost it after seeing the last update. Your digital painting skills are improving at a rate that's, to put it bluntly, terrifying.
And that bloody study of yours. You know the one, that one that's taking you ages. I can't stop staring at the details.
It's always good checking out your sketchbook, reminds me to start working harder.
Keep up the good work as always, it's an inspiration.
JamesSimons: Thank You!
Naidy: Thanks for the encouragement! The feeling of needing to work harder is a mutual feeling among people who have set their sights on getting to the top, I think, and one I share!
It was better for me this week. I'm going to be starting another illustration project and will be doing weekly studies like the photo study I did this week.
I also need to really work on my drawing!(drawing bigger and finishing to a higher level)
The master study, at 66%. I'm thinking of slowing down/taking a break on this, we will see.
The photo study, about ten hours most of which was yesterday! 30% might finish it in the future!
A still life I started and think turned out okay but I didn't finish it because I didn't want to redraw it.
The sketches. Have to improve this!
