Hello all you wonderfully talented sculptors!
This site seems like the place to be for serious sculpture! Truly inspiring work so far, and I've only just scraped the surface!
Ok, so here's my dilemma... I have never used Super Sculpey before, but I have a new art college project to make some creepy busts of strange folk...
I've got some SS on order, but I'm thinking about making duplicates of my masters by making silicone moulds to cast them in.
I'm a painter/cartoonist really and giving them a good paint job and texture is very important. I've seen very good examples of SS with an undercoat of (sprayed on) white acrylic and then a coat of subtle detailed oil paint (Love oils). Is this process Ok?
If I make casts via silicone moulds can I paint these in exactly the same way? What should I cast them in Resin Plaster or Polyurethane etc??
I need help! Ideally I want to make around 5 or so of each master to sell or give away.
P.S. I cannot afford an airbrush!
Thank you for reading!
