Thank you, kidult!
Louis Wu, the main character of Larry Niven's Ringworld series. Looking pretty good for a man of 200.
Wow stunning linework, amazing stuff. I must come back to seee more
love these lines sir.
Your skills on drawing seem to have come back but the attitude you're portraying seems nowhere near where it should be! THIS WORK IS BEAUTIFUL!
Besides the ass patting I suggest you take a spin through on of the adobe products. The biggest leaps in improvement come from handling the unknown and with the technique you already proved you possess it would be quick to learn how to use the software.
Best of luck!
@mariposa213: Thank you!
@tronrobot: Thank you! I do love linework; I think it must go all the way back to How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way many many moons ago.
@Full Red: Thank you! I actually use GIMP for several tasks due to it's awesome price. One thing that has been very helpful is this: When I'm unsure as to what I want to do next in a painting, or if something is not working out the way I'd like, I'll take a photo of the piece and experiment with changes in GIMP until I find something that I think works. Then I'll make those changes on the 'real' piece with the traditional painting methods. I think that may be a little backwards from the standard traditional+PC approach but I like it.
A profile study of a Puppeteer. This started as a little doodle on the bottom of a page so I included the bottom of the page.
That's actually a great way of problem solving, thank you very much for sharing!
Another sketch of a Kzin from Niven's Ringworld and Known Space.
Courtesy of Fritz Leiber, the two best thieves in Lankhmar and the greatest swordsmen in all of Nehwon, as well as the two sorcerers Ningauble of the Seven Eyes and Sheelba of the Eyeless Face.
Current state of the Gom Jabbar piece. Experienced a true gut check if there ever was one: Completely ruined the face of the wizened Reverend Mother and had to do it completely from scratch, painted over the area with a light neutral color and redrew in pencil. Plus I was battling some mild food poisoning I think, making for a memorable evening...
