doodles, some horrible lifedrawings and another wip...
Awesome characters, man. I particularily like the fluid curves of the people you draw, especially the nude studies. Looks like you had fun when you drew it. The faces could still need some work, but that'll come soon enough.
ffff your sketches are so fluid. D; heads up on the wip, it might be an optical illusion because of her costume, but the girl on the right appears to have the tiniest hips in comparison to the size of her shoulders/chest. actually, looking at it harder, i'm pretty sure it's just an optical illusion that could be fixed by making the front part of the tube-tabard a little bit wider where it splits over the skirt. otherwise, it looks great. >w<
I really like the hands and the nude figure in the post a couple back!
I get what you mean about not wanting to go out and sketch people,
it makes me super nervous too.. That is why I don't do it either...
I like how your painting is coming along, the rendering is nice!
I don't know if the characters are pre designed,
but I might make the woman in white's face a bit more feminine,
maybe the same for the other woman too.
That is just my opinion though!
Keep up the good work!
JaneMag: thanks for looking! yeh faces, sigh, i keep struggling forever with those!
Erotopia: thanks so much! and thanks for the feedback, ill try to fix that part!
greyskill: thanks! im so weak with faces but i definitively see if i can improve them without screwing it up to much cheers for the input!
uff, i have really been slacking with this but starting to finish it up now, but as you can see there is parts i need to work on absolutely, like the faces! but i set myself a deadline on friday for this one, just so i can finally move on and not sit on it forever and ever
i dont know if i really learnt something with this, i hope my subconsious did caus i feel still just as confused with painting/rendering or whatever you call it as i was before :/
but yeh, id still appreciate any feedback on it!
cool sketches, I specially dig the hands and feet! also the emotions in the poses.
About the collab, I like it overall, 2 thoughts: In the female on the left, I would make the hands pop out more from the spell shining. And maybe the lighting is too much intense in the other figure, I don´t think the light focus is enough strong Keep it up Ebba!
Great sketches and lifedrawings, as always... the painting you were working on came out pretty nice in the end; I think a lot of the trouble you were having is that you've got a very energetic style that loses a lot of its strength when you remove the lines.
What you were saying on the last page about drawing people in public - it can be a tough habit to get into if you're self-conscious about it; if you have any art friends around, it can help to go out in a big group of people. It does make you more noticeable, but gives you backup if people notice and you're feeling awkward. (When I was in second year at school, we actually had a quota of people-in-public drawings to hand in every couple of weeks, so a big mob of us went downtown a lot for drawing trips. If there's 5 or 6 people, most passersby assume it's some sort of official thing, and don't question it. If cafes and the like are too small and quiet, good spots are subways and foot courts, where there's so much going on that it's easy to go incognito.)
Ricardo Robles: thanks ricardo, glad you like! and thanks for the input on the collab, i so need to go study light and shadows, i have no clue what im doing thanks alot!
Revidescent: i keep hearing this, that i lose the energy of my sketches when im coloring them overall, and im tbh clueless how to get around that, i hope it will just come with time and practice -.-
and about going out drawing, im having more trouble to do it in groups... im diagnosed with social anxiety, and its a bit extreme, im feeling more stupid and awkward and kinda ashame over my quality of art compared to others so i cant really draw shit when im around other ppl its lame i know, haha, and im working on it, you know, going into some sort of therapy to overcome it :/
uff, heres a little late night sketching, trying to do a better version of this old crapper , so far just a few of the characters and some of them i threw away and some im reworking...well most of them, hah... hope i have improved somewhat from the old one :p
i think i only like the girl in the middle tbh... now sleep, and maybe redo the others tomorrow!
Wonderful foot studies! And as for the character sketches in your latest post, my favourite is the one to the left. Very nice pose and expression. The middle one is more mainstream and with a rather blank expression.
that last lineup of characters are great, the poses are very fluid and with lots of personality!

Nice Line-up in the latest update! I like the hints of strong characters regarding the left one and the two on the right. Even a nice variation in poses and expressions. I only don't know if it's really good to have them all so slender. Especially the girls left and right have very similar body shapes, even if there's a variation in the height. But I don't know if it is a point for you to make a bigger difference in the silhouettes
JaneMag: cheers for stopping by! youre right about her, i been struggling with to give that character more personality thanks for your input!
Ricardo Robles: Always a big thanks for stopping by!
tobzArt: Will do! thank youu
in2eternity: thanks so much!
Valyavande: Thanks! im really struggling with varying bodyshapes, but as to some of my characters they are a very slender and smallish race, both female and males, but still, im trying hard to separate them from each other, dont know when ill ever learn D:
thanks you guys, for stopping by and taking your time!
but you know, its time for you to really kick my arse, i need to get some help with that x) i feel like im slacking more and more and more and having trouble getting back at the right path
i dont mind at all you getting hard on me here, your kind words is love but i need some kicks in the butts
anywhos, im gonna try to push myself into more studies!
heres is some superfail ones...and some doodles and betty boop! trying to learn to draw her so i can draw her in a tattoo design for my mom!
Lovely eye-studies! I really envy how you draw your figures, they always looks so smooth and curvy.
Ahh our collab, I love how you painted it! I'm using it as a wallpaper :>
Luigi is my spirit animal
That character lineup a couple back is great - very strong posing, very dynamic. (Except the guy with an x over him, but there's an x over him, so hey.)
Also, I totally hear you on the social anxiety - this may be TMI from a random internet person, but I've only just finished about 5 years of treatment (counseling and medication) for it myself. Dealing with it isn't fun and isn't easy, but it's doable with baby steps and so, so worth it. So good luck!
keep pushing the painting stuff, you will find it very satisfying once you get a handle on it.
the realistic stuff will inform your stylized cartoony work, so don't give up on life drawing just yet.
When you start your life drawing, forget everything you think you know about anatomy, draw whats in front of you, not whats in your head. It's an exercise in problem solving.
keep it up!
f1x: thank you very much!
Revidescent: cheers! and thanks for telling me that, i only wish i had gotten help with this thing many years earlier, i always kept it to myself, its only last year when i was in vancouver that i started to talk about it and realised its something i can work on and get better with
ferrando: thanks for the support! ill keep trying this painting stuff, i feels soooo frustrated when i do it and not even showing half of the stuff im doing caus its so much crap x)
greyskill: thank you very much ,glad you like!
soooooo... i been dead for a while, this unemployed thing is killing me slowly and painfully for everyday that passes and i havent really helped myself very much, i solved my problems by pretending there wasnt any and dived into Dragon Age 2 for a while, but after playing all the classes and not much else to do in the game i had to slap myself into drawing again!
and i feel a little bit motivated again, i have inspiration again! and im thinking of taking some comics studies if i can get in, to keep myself busy with something ´caus getting a job seems very hopeless atm
i actually got an offer to keep yet another course to teach kids to draw (manga, but at least something i guess heh) so im doing that twice a week..trust me, i wouldnt recommend myself to work with kids usually but being unemployed i cant really say no to work
so heres some doodles from the last couple of days, im gonna try do some more serious lifestudy attemts this week, but preparing for work takes me more time than i get paid for x)
also some really crappy and very old silly studies
Your work is AMAZING! You figures are spot on and your creativity is very unique!
Aaah, I love animator sketchbooks. Love the figures! Such strong weight.
Awesome, what I really enjoy is the action flow of your lines, definitely designed for making animation
Oh man, those horses are great. Also, the sitting unicorn girl near the top of that group of sketches has an absolutely lovely gesture, love the curves.
A point on your heads - you tend to draw eyes a bit high, rather than halfway down the head. May be an intentional stylistic choice, since you're obviously not going for realism, but in some cases it makes the head look a bit stretched out.
