Really cool lineart. I have the feeling i already told u this some time ago.
Your lineart looks a bit like traced in some places, it propably could need some "dirt" here and there. I suppose u have ur lineart on a seperate layer. Try to use a texture and play around with the layermodes to apply it only on the line, maybe it help.
Im curious to see more, keep pushing!
This sketchbook never disappoints! Fantastic work!
Lakai - Yeah thanks. Yes I do often clean up my drawings a little (and keep the 'line art' on a seperate layer to my original sketch).
You have a nice portfolio btw.
CKLamb - Thank you! Love you work.
Since the Forums last went down I've actually been VERY productive. Been doing some freelance work as well as the usual portfolio stuff.
Firstly here's some sketches..
Fetsch - Thanks Man, Happy New years to you.

GrayPersona - Cheers man! Hope it doesnt hurt too much : D
Pixelhead- Glad you like it.
Elias Leonard - Thanks Sir.
Ok here's the latest update on this piece.
The face is influenced by and has been rendered in the style of 'Ruan Jia man' (been trying to figure out his painting style for aggess - just looks soo sweet.)
The headress/outfit etc.. is deliberately rendered in a 'bolder' more aggressive style as I thought it would help the composition.
Still not finished the lower part of this image - The preying mantis legs are giving me difficulties!

Anyway's firstly this is a character from a Japanese folklore(Yokai)/Samurai piece I am working on. There will be 6-7 characters in total and may end up being the basis for my first attempt at a graphic novel.
Phew finally! CO is back.
I've been accumulating more and more work to post.
Great sketchbook, really digging the woman with the headdress. Hope to see more soon!

Amazing linework and painting skills. The way you painted her face in #191 reminds me of Ruan Jia's work. Great stuff.

Wow nice sketchbook! I especially enjoy your line art, being obsessive with them myself ;P
Ok so I am doing some artwork for a friends Band.
Red or Blue?
(Blue is the original vsn)
I think it depends on what kind of band your friend's is. And this is just my personal preference, but either version could use more contrast...like brighter/more saturated blue/red for a more eye catching effect? Right now there's a lot of darker grays and very little highlight.
Kambei , great work . And blue definetly. Both work but it depends what kind of band it is and the album's name. If it's a very hardcore name, then Red, if it's a more serene , peaceful type of album , then blue. It's not about which one is the coolest or has the best color composition, but what it suggests on the album.
But blue if you want a simple answer. It just works better.
One crit I'd have is suggest more variety in your linework. Some of the lines look really dull in places and some blunt and thick lines wouldn't hurt. Try and study more about how light and weight affect the line in it's flow. Maybe you already know about this , maybe you don't. Don't be afraid to make those lines stronger , because they look like preliminary sketches and some of the beautiful details are lost or remain insignificant because of the line property.
Other than that , I like your process of work on digital.
