i know the feeling man like your newer stuff though! and now you know what it takes ! only positive experience. keep going!
What was it again?(no)
Hey there, skMOP! I just remember that you asked me once about bargue drawing. Here's the link about pros and cons of bargue drawing
You're doing a good job with the studies and paintings. I think that your figures are still missing a sense of weight and balance. In fact, they look like they're floating in some of the images. When you go to draw a pose, try to quickly strike it yourself so you can see where the weight is resting. Some of your gesture drawings are getting there.
That last post is looking great. Nice colors and lots of mass. Keep it up!
skmop! thx for dropping by my sb you're doing great. loving the studies, especially that color study on the top of this page. haha, love how you improvised your gesture studies by doing them on scrap paper :3
Hey skMOP, just wanted to say thanks for your comments, its true I have to work on so much, though its hard to find time sometimes...
Anyways, I really like your studies and still lives, though maybe you could put more highlights into you stills, I noticed that with the flower you drew. Keep it up, you'll definitely get better!!
Hey man, your faces / rendering have improved quite a good bit,
and I definitely notice that improvement in your self portrait.
Very inspiring to see your studies paying off so well.
Your color knowledge is also going to improve from those photo studies, which is excellent!
Just keep up what you've been doing, and try to work even harder! Have fun!
hey nice improvement from first page! Don't be afraid to push values in your graphite work too.
You're doing really excellent studies mate! Where were you able to draw arms from life?
Do you have a figure drawing class or something?
Anyway, keep doing what you're doing, because it's all coming along well; I'm seeing
good, steady improvement.
hey thanks for droppin by my sketchbook! looks like youve improved quite a bit since LTS as well youre still pretty young too so youve got some time. dont let that get to your head though! best thing i can tell you is to keep workin hard and youll keep improving. heres some stuff you could work on a bit too:
- your values have improved a lot since LTS but youre still not getting a full range in your imaginative stuff. photo studies!
-for your sketches, your lines are really good but they lack structure. i would stop worrying about the quality of your lines for a while and just concentrate on their accuracy. really make sure you put them in the right place, even if it takes a few tries. that will help you understand the shape of things better and make sure you are drawng those shapes correctly. your line quality will improve the more you draw.
-your colors are looking a little washed out. again, photo studies work wonders!
other than that, just try to do as much art as you can. i know how much high school can suck (haha), but just try to do some art every day, no matter how little. every bit helps. if you stay motivated and keep workin youll get where you want to be. how fast you get there is just up to you. cheers man, and good luck! ill be droppin by every once in a while
Hi there! You're working hard
It seems that you're simplifying your lines, but in a less than effective way. Let's see some variation in line weight to emphasize the form in these sketches.
krysjez: Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
jeremy: Sadly no, I just do them in front of a mirror with my weakass arms haha
lancer_idenoure: Thanks for the huge crit dude. Eh high school is alright, just homework that gets annoying sometimes. I'm on winter break right now > hence the updates. I'll start working on some more photo studies! Thanks again for all the advice..
kiwigarbage:Do you have any tips on how to improve that? Thanks for the drop-by.
Self portrait - focused on constructing the face first! I think the likeness is better, but messed up on rendering and the eyes.

That's a good idea, I'm going to have to do some arm self portraits haha
Your studies are kicking ass still, and that latest self portrait is showing definite
improvement over past portraits, especially in the lines used in rendering.
Keep pushing yourself!
jeremy: Thanks for posting all this support! Really helps.
Was busy for most of today but I want to try starting on some more industrial stuff. So started going through Yoitisi Island as a start! A4 sized, just sized down smaller because they look bleh and I don't want to take up that much space with these.
I suck at drawing cubes.
Posting for documenting/journaling purposes:

eekolite: Thanks for the link, I've been looking at that too.
jeremy: Get to work on them then!
Ah been really busy with school now that's break over. I keep delaying updates...
Studies will be uploaded later!

ahh yes.. persistent and dedicated! that's what i like to see great updates skmop! i think you did a good job on that last digital in terms of rendering materials~ perhaps you can emphasize the translucency of that skull inside the slime by adding a few intense highlights ?
anyway, keep up the good work! you are improving for sure ^^
Nice work! I really like the direction the last two TC pieces are taking you though I do agree some with teapo about the hilights. Adding a little bit of a stronger lightsource for added contrast and form might be a good idea too.
I don't know whether you were kidding or not in the screenCapBook, but i would like to open a second group
Perhaps two of my friends would join us too, but i don't really know...
So how is it?
Would you like to start one with me?
PS: Better answer via reply in my sb or via PN.
teapo: I actually thought I was starting to abuse the highlights.. thanks for dropping by man.
Pixie Trick: Thanksss for the advice
Silwynar: ryanoir opened up more spaces
Stuff for spartan camp (from mma photos and bodies in motion)(+sorry for the background stuff again, just saving paper z__z)
Each one A4 sized
Actual size is about 6000x3000 px - figures are still looking stiff :/
