Great illustrations, especially the one with the archangel.

what can I say ... brilliant stuff in here ... you could use a little more detail in the focus parts though but maybe thats just something you knowingly sacrifice for the sake of speed
I like how you came to brighten up your colorization compared to the first pieces on this sketchbook ... the paintings really benefit a lot form that
No skill still isn't a new side.

haven't seen your work for some time... well, man, you're doing really great! especially I like the fact that your works are really different from each other.
and this work > http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1310552699
is simply fantastic for me. I dunno how to explain it - the character seems to be very deep and there's definitely a story behind her...
I haven't read all th thread so I just want to ask if you always do value sketch first? I tried this technique but I get very dirty colors in the end. I start to redraw it completely on "normal layer" and lose a lot of time -__-
maybe you can give me a good old link to some tutorial on coloring value sketches?
Trying to get into some sci-fi
can u get the psd of tha last?
Bit more and I think I'll call it done
you have great stuff here. I especially like your step by step from BW to full color. hope to see more sci-fi.
GEB you rock star! loving the sb friend. I do have a quick observation on the piece above with the mech and the soldier. the soldier doesnt appear to have any sense of urgency. it might help to zoom in on the soldier a little bit more and hunch him over his gun. think resident evil 5 POV. it should add more emotion and movement to the piece. i love the colors and the lighting. keep up the great work man!
Love how you transform your lively sketches into awesome paintings Keep up the good work^^
Been working on this old bastard again. Still not happy but think I need to call it a day...
I browsed through your sketchbook almost all night long yesterday. It's awesome to see your improvement and I have to say that you developed a very nice style for concept art(e.g. this dinosaur trying to eat/scare two guys holding their lances).
It's called 'Free time fun', but I guess that was about 2 years ago...did you establish yourself in the industry today?
Man, I know it sounds ridiculous, but honestly, your work is such a motivation for me!
Hi again GEB!
The old fart looks really great himself but I'm a bit confused by texture of water and clouds. Especially water looks too blurry for me in comparison with well detailed guy's body and beard. Though I can't draw clouds myself and I never tried drawing water XD
I also think there'd more light areas on the rocks near the light source but well it's all up to you waiting for more of your updates!
BTW do you use "color" or "overlay" layer to put colors over a value sketch?
The updates are looking very good - really like how patient you have been with the seagod/Poseidon & how well it has paid off (I often stop working on personal pieces after a day and have to struggle to finish anything that takes more than 2).
Overall very nice.
Messed about with this again decided to give it a different look and tech. Also tried to sort out the pose and comp, I think it's better for it. I'm just gunna leave it for a while
the titan(?) in post 348 came out great, really nice lighting. In this last soldier against mecha, maybe i liked more the previous compo, they were closer each other and that gave me a true danger sensation. Maybe with more dynamic pose in the soldier´s shoulders? dunno, anyways it is working very well, and I believe this last suit design is working better.
good work dude!
More areas for concern... Saw some knockout vehicle designs yesterday and it's a world a rarely visit. But man it's so hard not to just do crappy starwars rip offs. Defo need to practice more!
the soldier and the mech looks better like this - it wold be nice perhaps with some small reaction to it being shot up - not perhaps huge movie sparks - but maybe something as the bullet hits the armour.
Anyway as for the latest I feel the same with many designs - its so easy to go down old paths.
first time dropping in here i think,
i really like the atmosphere in most of your stuff, it most times helps tell the story you are trying to convey.
looks like you stumbled into scott robertson's work yesterday shuttles are cute and fun to do, they offer an immense variety of unexpected shapes and a great way to practice materials. you can work on shiny metal, rusty metal, glass and rubber all together so it's indeed fun.
i have to agree with both Dan and Ricardo on the titan image / the soldier. the titan looks great but the soldier could use some more love.
i did a little paintover, i apologize if it's considered unpolite, just let me know and i'll take it down. i tried rearranging the elements a little and adding some foreground stuff. it's not great but i hope it helps somehow.
see you around, cheers!
i like how you pulled out on the soldier. s/he looks more confident, as if they have a swagger, a "come at me bro!" mentality as they pump rounds into the mech. i like.
Jesus... I can't leave this f@ckin thing alone
I'm branching out mo fos! Trying some new shit after being inspired by other much greater artists
Nice branching - looks very sleek and nice - love the engine
