painting wip. more stuff coming once I get them scanned.
Thanks for stopping by my book! Seems you have some good stuff to! Seeing a lot of improvement in the characters through the pages! Keep up the good work man!
Oh yea, i was also wanting to try painter out.. Have to give it a shot soon!
Nice character. I have few comments:
Firstly, I think it's too dark there, in the background. I hardly can see things in there and i'm not looking for details, just some hints.
Secondly, does he sat close to bonfire? He is having hard lights on, very contrast to the background. If he does sat close to bonfire, then the light colors should be warm. There can always be exceptions, off-course, like for example, the bonfire lit a magical white flames or something like that. If so, you should indicate the anomalies/exceptions to us the audience.
Lastly, you should try to vary the light and shade color, usually it's cool hues for shade (dark blue, purple, etc.) and warm for light (light orange, yellow, etc.).
I don't know if you already went to this link, it's about digital painting in general.
I hope it's helpful to you as it does for me
keep updating! i'm looking for more
I like that title, I see you are living by it pretty well. Keep up the work but maybe some more studies; the picture you are working on now has a very subtle contrast of dark to grey in the background that makes the foreground pop but the rest of the picture is just invisible. maybe a sharper contrast from that night sky and the trees would make the picture look more uniform and full?
callouses on the fingers. If you don’t have any, you’re not drawing enough.
I will be an Artist or nothing! ; The Sketchbook
Hey Original E,
Thank you for visiting my SB. I went through your entire thread and I've gotta say, I'm really impressed with how crisp and smooth your anatomy sketches are. Your digital work is amazing I still can't wait to learn how to do that. Take care good sir!
Dwarven Hunter cancels trapping; Interrupted by Undead Elephant!
watch for facial structure at your last post. Left face features are falling apart there, i guess have you tried to mirror this as you paint? do that, especially in early stages.
nice concept though. keep going
