EDIT 2: As I finished the picture, I'm going to repost in the Critique forum.
Well, obviously I haven't even started on the background, so that'll be another tale for another time, but I've more or less finished the figures, so before I move on and call that portion of the painting finished, I was hoping for some feedback?
I didn't use any references, so feel free to call out any glaring anatomical problems, but what I'm most unsure of and most interested in feedback on would be the general use of color. The light source is supposed to be in the bottom left corner, behind them on the vaguely constructed pathway, so if the shadow placement also seems particularly awkward, I'm quite interested in hearing about it.
I'm trying to make this better than anything I've done before as a personal challenge, but I don't trust that my own artistic judgment will be able to accomplish that. I think I'll be a color newb for the rest of my life, so any pointers, critiques, suggestions, or grievances, especially regarding the coloring so far, would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I started on the background a little, and thought this might be easier to critique with an idea of what they'll be up against, so I updated the picture. Any qualms with the current color scheme, or ideas to make everything work better together, I'd love to hear.
