Ooooo look at those shiny prizes! I shall enter too!
Win or not the process is rather exciting don't you think?
hitting it at top speed!
About improving: Even if I sont win, this was already worth it. I am working on my 2nd pic and I already learned sooo much.
A question at the end: What is meant with "presentation" ? Are we supposed to make a frame and WIP all together with text in an overall picture ? Not sure about that.
I'm pretty sure that making a thread for your image is optional. The rules state that you are to attach the image in an e-mail and send it to the stated address. I believe the threads are more for your benefit, so you can receive constructive feedback and make the best image possible. By presentation he probably just means that you took the time to make it look finished and presentable.Create your artwork and submit your final entry in jpeg form at 1000 pixels wide to firstname.lastname@example.org (include your full name, conceptart.org username, address, and phone number in the email with the entry attached).
I took registration to mean be registered as a member of concept art, so you have a concept art ID to include with your email................
.......... but just in case........... I'm registering
This is massively cool. Unfortunately I doubt I can be a contender. I think I can be a better artist. CA will guide me in my efforts. Congrats to the future winner and good luck to all!
I too would like some clarification on the dimensions. My painting is very vertical, and a width of 1000 pixels would make it much too tall to be viewable on any monitor.
Is 1000 pixels tall acceptable (which would make my pic's width a much more manageable 400 pixels)? Or do I just stick with a monstrous 1000 x 2500 pixel image?

Is photoediting allowed?
I belong to a few GFX sites, and my friends want to know if they can enter GFX things.
Obviously not just taking an entry and putting it on a cool background, but say I took, a pair of hands, and a baby, and made it look like they were the hands of god holding the baby or something, would that be okay?
Sorry if I'm not making any sense.
With 50% of the judging going to idea development are we supposed to post process pics of our ideas?Judging: Judges weigh each entry based on idea development (50 percent) and technique (50 percent). Pretty pictures are nothing without great ideas. Great ideas are better without stellar execution.
Narrative, idea, story, symbolism, design,
Composition, execution, presentation, brushwork/surfacing (or lack thereof), color or value use etc…
Also... is their a stipulation on the need for a hi-rez version of the image (300dpi minimum?) for publication purposes in the event that your image wins etc?
Awesome stuff... I'm hoping I can fit this in.
Kudos for all you do for the community!
