This is going to be a book cover, the sort that wraps around the book (thats why its empty on the left there) I was hoping to get some feedback from you guys. No control over the subject matter, I'm looking for crits on the execution. No kid-gloves, please give me the straight up stuff. It done in acrylics and touched up with photoshop, so changes might be slow. Thanks in advance
What's the atmosphere of the book? Right now, the ominous-ish UFO combined with the sunny plains and rather relaxed-looking character create an almost humorous presence in the UFO. If this is intended, then you did this rather well. If the book's more dark, the lighting and mood should reflect that.
That aside, the figure is rendered considerably more realistically than the background is, and that sort of gives off a feeling akin to "This has been shooped in". Some harmonizing of the styles would help, unless that's part of the theme.
I really don't know which direction you're shooting for, so I'm not sure if I'm helping.
she lacks cleavage, the vest feels very flat and her hair appears to be placed on her head rather than growing out of it. actually now that i look closer, she appears to just be plopped in front of the BG, try to immerse her in it more
I like how you did the hair, but it needs to be blended into the character more
p.s. her right wrist really bothers me.
The woman isnt involved in the picture, shes like a seperate picture infront of the background.

I like the basic concept and shape design, but the color isn't doing anything.
You need to do something about that bird's nest on her head, and push the flying saucer back.
It's a bit too obvious where you were working from good reference (the face), and where you were winging it (everywhere else).
