Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
Here is a CHOW I started but didn't get finished in time.
Okay here's that guy from before, its pretty much done unless you guys have more crits for it, and I could prolly add a little more detail I guess:
I've been needing to do a self portrait since I know TAD wants to see one in application portfolios, plus its just good practice... and I woke up this morning with shitty hair, acne flaring up, and in severe need of a shave, which adds up to a good look for a portrait! Better to have those ugly details, looks like more of a person that way. Anyways, here's my very early start!
Sorry for not being such an active member of our SSG.
I like the way you've done the demons hair, the lighting also gives a really nice mood. You could always work on it more, rub some places and give it more definition but I think it already show's all the essential things.
Looking forward to the self portrait, the blue light can make some interesting effects. Have a good study.
Keep it up mate!
hey no problem rotor! thanks for dropping by! thanks a lot for the feedback, i'm definitely gonna add some detail to the demon guy.
Here's a project I did for my typography class:
Tight work, dude. Great figure sketches on last page. Got me inspired. Sp is also looking good so far. Keep working those values.

quick sneak peak of a little story i'm working on!
Also I set up a Live Stream account, so you can follow me at http://www.livestream.com/ianbarkerart
Not sure how much I'll be on there, but feel free to check in and ask questions / make suggestions

Your art is sleek, cool, confident, and just really quite pleasing to look at, particularly the paintings. Consider me jealous.
haha yeah agreed - some nice creatures in here. And you have quite a good grasp on lighting so nice work. SP looks good, but more pencils please! Pencils are the route to all artistic greatness :p
I remember seeing some of it in the critique section too. =) Your 3d stuff is near, aah reminds me I want to do it too more >-<
Thanks guys, really appreciate your time in stopping by and commenting!
Thomas: Right you are! I've been slouching on the studies lately D: I do have a few months worth of random mindless doodles I've been too lazy to upload...
A lot of these sketches I'm going to add a couple hours of Photoshop to, similar to the little creatures I posted earlier. But man, I need to get back to the books! :o Here's going back to Vilppu a bit, along with some quick reference sketches:
Anyways more studies coming in the future, I've fallen behind in that regard
Progress on the SP... the expression isn't where I want it:
And I'm starting on a portrait of WEEZY:
Not sure if I've quite capture the likeness on that one though (obviously going for a caricature)
great work man.
Note to self - Do not try to invade your house.
Art so far SketchBook
Hey man great SB! going through it, lots of really solid, good stuff. I do notice that often, though your gestures & studies are fluid, emotive, and properly proportioned, some of your pieces appear stiff and slightly off kilter somehow. I think it's only on pieces where you are concentrating on other things, looking at comp & lighting.. meh what do i know - overall, badassery abounds, keep up the work, you're getting an earlier start than alot of us have had
I thrive on deadlines, & I am looking for work!
Thanks all! Dacount I totally see what you're saying, I'll make sure to keep an eye on that. Thanks for the input.
Well I'm entering a competition to have a boss design put in the upcoming MegaMan Legends 3 game for 3DS. Legends 1c and 2 were two of my favorite childhood games, so to have a design in the 3rd (it's been a 10 year wait!) would be amazing. To vote just give my thread 5 stars (or as many as you feel it deserves of course). I would really appreciate your time and support!

Art and kindness are my weapons of choice.
Heck yeah! Go metroid!
Sorry it's been so long! Truth be told I have been sitting on my ass not drawing. I have no art classes this semester (taking all gen ed classes) and am not living with artists like I usually do. As it turns out I suck at motivating myself on my own. :/ Obviously that's not gonna fly.
I'll have a little sketchbook dump tomorrow. In the meantime here's a weird little... thing,
And here's a 3D model I started. It's the Jaguar CX-75 concept.
Oh that Django critter is precious >3<

Awesome sketchbook man, I love the diversification in your pictures. Great inspiration and Motivation , cheers
Can't wait to see more works (:
Well, it's been a while. Not sure why. Anyways, back to business:
Random illustration. Doesn't mean anything, just had the picture in my head. May redraw the girl's head as a tomato or something:
Here's a self portrait. I'm not for sure whether it's finished, but it seems to be close!
Here's a WIP environment:
Here are the covers for the graphic novel I'm making. There are 3 volumes. When you all the volumes down at once they make a bigger image:
Here's something that I just now started, more to come on this one soon:
As always critiques are much appreciated!

Great stuff going on here! The graphic novel covers look pretty cool.
I like the upside down girl too, except the purple I find to be somewhat strong or out of place. Maybe try changing the palette a little.
