took a bunch of recent sketches an an mak'n soup gunna add some salt an BAM' hope it works out what'cha think
i understand that you put this together with several different sketches. but if you mean to integrate them seamlessly, you might want to change the warm hues on the girl. theres so much greens and blues everywhere... except her.
Yeah, that's what jumps out to me the most. Her warm hues as opposed to the cool background. Working on that will help make it mesh a lot more than it does now.
Yeah, nearly. Look around her. LOTS of green and Blue. Our skin reflects colours from around us, I would assume she would have some reflecting from her skin. Have some kind of green rim light or something. Its hard to explain this shit without working on it myself.
But I think its a huge improvement, experiment with her skin a littl and show the results.
That looks REALLY nice! Much better pose overall. You could always try with an orange flame also just to check out which looks better. Seeing is always more powerful than thinking.
I think there 'might' be too much space to the right. Maybe you could play with the crop tool to see if taking some away would make it feel better.
Put a nice reflection on that water, would make the piece really interesting.
I think now that you have a torch you should darken some of the background with dark saturated blue, this would make her 'pop' from the background.
The first thing that jumped out at me was that the mount melted into the background to much, but you fixed that quickly And for the torch I think you should make it orange, because right now the whole picture is very blue. And that´s another thing, for every post the picture keeps getting bluer and bluer, and I think you might be risking to overdo it. Personally I liked it the best in post no8. But that´s my 2 cents, keep working
thanks Rist thanks kokos i tried for 3 hrs an for the life of me i couldn't get the torch to be orange i think cause it was an after thought ... to be believable it turned into a big orange beak'n right in the middle of the pic so i tried to bring up some other colors to try to make the blue work whatcha think?
This is looking really great so far, man, you're coming a long way! All I can point out for now- try to get a little more color into the dinosaur's shadows, they're leaning just a little much much towards black (but don't go too crazy, you wanna keep those darks in there). Second, the fire is really, really dull. Look at any photo of a flame, it'd gotta be a lot brighter than that. Keep it coming!
I like it, but I have some crits regarding rendering. When painting something from imagination really think about the lighting. In your pic it seems that everything is so illuminated by the sky that she doesn't even need a torch. Try to think in passes like a 3d program. You can try painting different lights on different layers. First comes the diffuse lighting from the sky directly above that makes everything blue. Then comes the torch thats your main light. Thirdly you can add the moon that would act as a rim light or create crazy shadows on the ground. I made a crappy paintover, hope you don't mind.
