danlambert: haha, thanks
Peetaer: THANKS! youre right
Black Spot: thanks, ill try
The enviroments have great mood(of course they still seem rough, but its ok as studies), the last character seems a little stiff. The character with the background (can become a really great illustration/concept hehehe). The portrait looks very good
Keep up the good work mate
Im gonna second kostas on the stiffness of the char.
I would also make a clear difference in values between the different parts of clothing aswell
On the environment study watch your edges - a bit of sharpening goes a long way
Waiting to see more
Krato: lol, you hate my faces, dontyou?
botho81: thank you
kingkostas: thanks, i gave up
Mark Vatsel: man, its a SS uniform thanks though and CONGRATS TO OUR AWESOME SKETCHGROUP!
The enviroment looks interesting but yet looks abstract and colored with low opacity.Thats not actually bad but it gives the feeling of sketch/rough work.
Nice play with the colors in the second one.A good thing i see is that you worked all the painting instead of detailing on place and then getting bored quickly.
I recommend a focused work/study now, to work it more than one day and see your current stage and what you need to do to upgrade.
Keep up mate
Krato: yeah, thanks
kingkostas: yeah, i neeed thattt
Mark Vatsel: ill stay away from the soft round on, okay?
just a sample from today
edit: ah, btw its a study not that you think i suddenly got that good^^
Big ups on the studies man, they look awesome, your really progressing fast mate!
But maybe a longer study would be cool? really focusing on placement.
Just an idea though
JailHouseRock2: i need that, thanks!
kingkostas: dont tell me what looks good, tell me what SUCKS!
Krato: ah, thanks yeah, need to do taht..
Mark Vatsel: doesnt. CRITIQUE
AlexTooth: thats nice, thanks!
no87: thank you
HARSH, BRUTAL CRITIQUE PLEASE! MAKE ME CRY!!!!
Lol but actually i dont see anything bad there. The only thing is that you leave them in the middle phase.Keep working them more
When you doing these studies mostly for color and such there is also no reason to critique anatomy, cause you are not focusing there with these
Work more the pieces
Pleeeeeeeease take something to finish! You're real good at roughing things in quickly, and good with your values, but you need to do the longer images as well. I want to see 20+ hours on an image at least, really pushing your forms and values and getting a nice level of finish. You need both skills!
Get to it sir!
glass of water still life = perspective and edges fail
I dont even know what that thing in the middle is.
watch out for having too much use of texture, like in the first one, it can spoil the image.
Work harder you slacker!
(and leave a nasty comment in my skecthbook too )

And Krato hates you too.
Bad perspective in this one http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1257896928
The mouth is crooked... check the left corner of the mouth (on our right) compared to the corner of the jaw. Also compare to the angle of the cheekbones/eye sockets
And that scarf makes you look like a nancy--a GERMAN nancy--not that there's anything wrong with that (more crying?)
Man I missed a few updates and now u want some brutal stuff Good to see good to see...
With the environments and backgrounds think about the ground plane more. This is a very important part of environments imo because its the foundation for your environment. So its important to have the right perspective on this so it doesn't look like the ground is sloped. Also separate the enviro into foreground, midground and background. How are they different? Is there a difference in the value and hue? Is the contrast in detail n value n color lessening towards the distance?
In the last post, your backgrounds have been a wall of foliage, its too flat. Think about it existing in 3d space. Get some shapes coming out towards us and some turning away from us. Be a sculptor here, cut into that wall and chisel some more shapes in there.
With the still life, I wander about the perspective. The only thing telling us that we are looking down on it is the ellipse at the top. The bottom is confusing and may need some defining so we can see where its turning. Also the handle can help tell us whats going on so getting them to all say that we are looking at it from 'x' angle will help loads.
There you go! I'd also like to see you tackle a longer piece sometime. With the quick stuff, you can leave somethings undefined and get away with it to see if you can take it further, you may discover other things you need to work on this way.
Hope that was helpful. Looking forward to the next updates
Oh crud, I'm no good at making people cry...well, unless those are happy tears! So let's try that!
Heavenly! Wondrous! Stupendous! Absolutely delectable, like dipping my bottom over and over into a bath of the silkiest oils and creams! (cookie for getting that last quote, too!)
Is that mist around your eyes?
But okay, in all seriousness, I honestly like your work here. Those loose studies look great, you seem to have a good sense of form, values and anatomy. But there's room for improvement, as always! Maybe try pushing a truly finished piece for once?
kingkostas: thanks, i didnt really cry!
danlambert: yes, thanks
Krato: i actually cried, yes. thanks!
Mark Vatsel: thank you
p sage: this made me cry even more i though dylan was my darling D:
Bendragon: that didnt make me cry....but i love you for that
i know all this stuff, but i dont use it
AsaB: thank you.... you didnt make me cry.....
´1. youre awesome, mates! thats the kind of critique i need
2. i WILL do an at least 10 hour lasting study or something! WITHIN THIS WEEK! MAYBEEEE SUNNNNDDAAAAAYY LETS GET INTENSE!
I find it hard to crit these
since they still just feel rushed, as you already know
Well yeah, just more work into each and one of these, really.
and sunsets tend to have a very saturating red-orange hue, not a desaturated one
Keep up -I'll be waiting on that study
lol the last one made me laugh a little
Ok we wait for a finished work or for a work that you are gonna update with each post(i mean that you will keep improving it with each post).
