This wonderful painting was designed and finished by the very talented folks at trailer park, I just pitched in with a few sketches.
Sorry guys the sketches are not in order, but I know you can figure them out.
From my new book on how to draw creatures.
fantastic stuff Mike !
I got some questions , hope you dont mind :
how did you pick the highlights in the creature design, is it gouache ?
do you know of a good white crayon which makes good highlights in pencil drawings ?
looking forward to the next update.
destruction by creation , creation by destruction
Hey, Thank you guys!
Hesse, thanks man! I use gouache or gesso for the highlights. Sorry I never have used crayons.
It usually takes me about 10 to 15 minutes for this type of rough sketch, sometimes less if I'm in a rush. Remember I've been doing this for a few weeks.
I will try to get back to everyone I promise!
Hey, I've been keeping you alive on this site!
Anytime someone asks about an artist that works in both mediums that they could learn from, I mention you.
You, had become...the forgotten...
But I still remember!

To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."-John Huston, Director
Thanks man, I just don't have the time anymore, the work load these day is insane,
but thanks again my friend.
I still cannot believe the sheer quantity as well as quality of work you put out.
I love your work man, a big inspiration for me. Thanks for the updates, they were the perfect accompaniment to my morning coffee
Thanks for the sketches! It is very interesting, especially that you work in such small size, at least I would have thought that these sketches are larger. Interesting and very inspirational!
