nice portait man, turned out lovely!
Und nun fangt er an Deutsch zu sprechen!
Pressure is good too, yes, but it's a two edged sword. Be careful with it.
It is nice finishing something you started a while ago, and it turned out really good, especially the hair you worked so much on. The effort sure was worth it!
Will you work on the hat?
more anatomy studies please, thank you ^_^
(edit: I went back a page and I really liked the post apocalyptic one, I liked how the soldier from right smokes like his in heaven or something haha.)

Youve got that Craig Mullins feel in the concept on page22. Great stuff man, looking forward seeing how far you can take that style.
Maybe try and create a slightly better balance thou, between the abstract/textured brushes and the more rendered out forms.
At their current state it can get alittle busy for the eyes, and you in places it can rather look lazy, or like your using textured brushes just for the heck of it, than using em in a way so that they add to the drawing and conveys what you want to say.
Really like whats going on here, mate
............................................Keep 'em posting. GOOD LUCK MATE..........
Here is my: S-K-E-T-C-H-B-O-O-K
/.....if there is someone from AUSTRALIA especially from SYDNEY on this site, then leave a msg for me, and I really want to meet with you & to making a friends-of course if you'd agree it...............please
These are good quick sketches. Vilppu thinks very much in the round, volume. It's great for 3Ding your figures.
You know, I can't add much more than Chris Sears wrote. Uniting your figures with rhythms is good advice. Look for where forms in silhouette line up in our view of the model. An arm may go into a leg as one sweep, or look to see if the back will create a big C curve with the hamstring, for example. Continue to sweep that line all the length of your figure. You're already feeling the curves as one sweep in the legs in your drawings in the 3rd-4th image. Think in these same terms when drawing the torso. Find how it relates to the legs as a way to unify the upper and lower figure. Basically think this way everywhere. How can you relate with rhythms and gesture on part to the other?
Your stuff looks pretty good. Can see you are analyzing and applying. Keep it up.

krel Thanks, the problem with was lack of time it has time limit and i ran out of it, however i will think about of what you said the balance should do good for the painting.
Mag-Neo Wow thaaaaaaannnnnkkkkk Yoooouuuuu!
AztcFireFlower Thank you so much for the visit i'll try next time, i'm struggling with my bad self taught habbits, also if not surrounded by style you like as everyone here draws in totally different way can make a huge influence also. Altho Reilly method is THe type of drawing i'd like to master.
Ok so here's some sketches from past few days.
The first one is done on the same lame day as the Converse Chuck's shoe, meh. The second is page with some 30second or so drawings from life. The third is my " anti draw me dad" which like always did not let me to finish drawing him...... The fourth is a pair of apples and a present for Cristina a lovely Husky!
I've got some digital updates coming soon, but i will be away from home for 3 days or so i'm leaving tomorrow, for a school application interview.
It's a chool of 3D animation and visual effects, cheaper medicore version of Gnomon, but it's hard to keep up with Gnomon so it's good anyways me thinks. Orc work!
good update mate, may I suggest you to invest money into gnomon DVD's and massive black/concept art DVD's instead going to a mediocre school?
it will be a shame to see you getting dissapointed after you already payed, and animation? I thought I wanted to study animation but eventually I figured that concept art is that sh!t baby.
Anyhow good luck dude.
Went from first page to last, your progress is incredible haha massive inspiration. Want to get out tablet nao! But someone locked myself out of being able to use Photoshop... stupid computer ><
I know that i'll stick to concept art and maybe do some mattepainting in the future, but widening your skill set is always good thing to do. Plus I won't pay a thing for it. As it's sponsored by the European Union like last year, however this one is last. Next will cost quite alot.
Anyway i think, that knowing maya in the future will only do me good as it's all heading towards 3d now, and most probably concept artists will have to be able to model their designs themselves.
Sooo it seems like a good idea, the only costs will be the room at the local campus and the food ofcourse.
EDIT: Here's the list of software and things we will be taught:
drawing from life,
intro to 3d animation
intro to post production
history of media
drawing from life
demo reel development
Demo reel production
* Autodesk MAYA
* Autodesk 3DS Max
* Adobe After Effects
* Adobe Photoshop CS
* Adobe Flash CS
* The Foundry Nuke
* Pixologic Zbrush
*And maybe Boujou

I really hope you'll get into that school Paul!!
The program looks promising, and like you said, you just have to pay food and shelter this year. It is a great opportunity to learn some more, great!
You'll be surrounded by art, inspiration and motivation!
From what i read you're varying your digi and traditional, not neglecting any, doing from real life and from photo at the same time. Perfect!
And about that husky, witch cristina are you referring to? That couldn't be me?!..is it?
Awaiting your digimadnessss!!
Yup, that's a small git for you.
My favourite race, i wish i could have one, but no conditions for keeping pets, often on the road visiting some people with noonce to stay and take care of the pet. Oh well atleast i can draw them as many as i like ^^
EDIT: It was finished in a rush some things still need a touch here and there ( left eye for example) , but i must call it done i'm leaving in two hours, gotta go pack myself.

Wow! Thank you Paul, don't know what to say!! just..
I really like them too. Such a lovely fur and personality..
I also like the German Shepard and the race like the first silhouette of that dog you drew on the first page(dunno the name right now),though they're not as cute as the husky
Regarding the drawing, i hope you're referring to his left eye, because the left side from the viewers point of view is ok i say.
Wish you a wonderful trip!!!
I really like the eyes
Hey guys i've just came back home after 800km long drive, i can't feel my butt ~.~
But i'm in! I got accepted! Plus i saw some sculptures done by the instructor and it was a pleasant surprise, just like digitals of the guy teaching digital painting, should be awesome. Laters!
EDIT: My hdd got bugged, quite alot bad sectors , i don't know if i will be able to recover all my files and those precious .psd's with unfinished works that i havent posted yet.

Woot, congrats man! Glad you got accepted
Btw, dont get me wrong, I think that Mullins-style drawing is awesome, I just want you to get even further
The photo study also looks great, love the skintone and the purple.
crazy sketchbook you got going on here, so much progress and congratulations on the school seams like a great opportunity to learn some 3d and such. I definitely like the textured style. One thing that I learned recently that might is that if you mess with the roundness setting of a sampled texture brush you can create nice textured planes(you probably already do that or something better, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to mention).
keep up the hard work.

mc2mc2 Hi Matt, always happy to see you here in this dump haha.
jackpot_anjr90 Thank you.
Danny_K Muchas gracias Signore, yeah I hope I will.
Doom-Breath The progress would be even bigger if i only would work harder, i'm still too lazy. Thanks.
krel Mullins was one of my first inspirations, but i think this type of painting suits me best. At first i wnated to do super rendered stuff, but i've discovered that this sketchy technique is somewhat a mirror of my personality.
Thanks for the visit, arigato.
BlackDelphin Technology can be ridicilous sometimes, but well oh well sh!t happens i guess. Thank you dear.
surfandsnow I'm glad you like it, i promise to work even harder from now on, and thanks for the tip; sometimes those little things fly away from our memory
So i have to tell you guys why i was absent for such a long time.
The whole go to the school for an interview thing took around 4 days itself and when i came back i had only few days break which i spent with my friends i did not draw at all, why you might ask. The reason was: i had to go to the hospital i have some problems with my stomach and the next guts that come after it, you get the point ^^'
So i went for tests to eh hospital, normally it would take only 3 days but they kept me for 1 week for obervation and such. They did not find nothing i had all sort of tests, which is good but i'm still waiting for diagnosis of scrap of my stomach, so we will see whats wrong.
Anyhoot, here's some stuff from today. And i got to tell you i got sooo rusty after this 2 week break' strugglin' alot with theese, back i'm back in the game.
Few sketches and a still life set on my desk.
