Here is the environment I did tonight for my first live stream session. Was lots of fun, thanks for everyone's support. You can watch the recording at
Cool work! How do you like TAD?
Randis == c o o l. Is Feng Zhu one of your instructors?
I like how his "industrial design" approach affects 2D figure and form drawing, for regular art. I think it would be highly beneficial for someone wanting to do traditional art to become trained in industrial design because of the 3D approach to everything. Do you think that way, too?
P Sage: Thanks for stopping by I am loving TAD. It's a lot of intensive work but the amount of information is crazy and I fell like we are all improving by leaps and bounds. I'd recommend it to anyone considering an art career. We haven't had Feng in yet as a guest instructor, maybe in the future. 3D is super important to working in games and film. I think the more you work with it the more intuitive your 2D drawing becomes when considering light and form. I would like to work with sculptris more in the future since zbrush is mega expensive. Maybe during winter break I'll mess around with it
really good stuff man. You have come a long way. The photo studies and the environments are looking really good. looking forward to more anatomy studies. keep them coming.
sense of purpose
Liberty: Thanks! Yea I'll try to stream once a week.
sin eater: Thanks for stopping by and the compliment. I'll keep working hard.
Updates! A James Paick study (mine on the bottom) Another enviro speed paint. Then some character design ideation for class and last a portrait for a friend I spent several hours on.
Liberty: Thanks! I'm excited to bring her to a finish
Dan: Thank you my friend. 1 or 2 more and I'll be posting them all together to get input on which one to take to a finish.
I took the aquatic vehicle design for industrial class and sketched out a rough concept to work in 3D from. Going to try it out in Sculptris
Dan: Thanks man, I'm leaning towards 4 as one of the two as well
P Sage: Thanks, noted
RBeek: Thanks man!! I had tons of fun doing all these environments. Learned a ton in the process.
Here is an update of some character work for school. First one still needs a bit more design work and a more thought out value structure. Moving on to value pattern then rendering for the second. And I just need to pick the value pattern for the last piece then some color passes and finally on to rendering.
Your enviro working on value only is coming nicely. I'd like to see more. Cool SB!

My Sketchbook: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=203841
It's been about a month since I've updated so I thought it was time to dump some art. Here is a bunch of sketches, studies, thumbnails and concept work I've been doing. The creature and environment still need a bit o work and clean up before I call them finished. Back to the drawing board.
Today's sketch. I'm starting to feel good about my own approaches to digital art. I feel like I've finally figured out similar decisions that I make in each drawing I do. So now its time to start refining and explore all kinds of different ideas and genres. Draw Draw Draw
