I love the Nacho libre pic! One of my favourite movies as well great SB!
Awesome stuff here
The Harry Potter picture thing is really great.

He really was impressed and so I am.

chuck18mp, thanks a lot! Hopely I will get better soon!
Thank you, spaztastic. Magnum!!
Hello, ashess. It's taken me forever to get back to this huh. Thanks for your kind words. I do agree about that druid piece. Infact, I've fixed that problem already on the final colored version. Someday soon, allow me to share my techniques here. Update coming soon!
swizzle-stix, that means a lot to me. Thank you
Thank you so much Me,Myself & Me again. More caricatures coming up for sure! Hopely I'll start color some of these too.
Hygami, thank you! It's this brush that I came up with. It allows me to go multiple directions as if I'm using one of those traditional chinese brushes. Let me share it when I do my tutorial version here sometime soon. cheers
spaztastic, hey you are back!! Sorry I've been busy painting:p
hunchback, I'm glad you like my caricatures. Thanks a bunch!!
Vehkt, so clearly I don't know who you are but I think you are wrong.
As cliche as this will sound, you can do it!!
sourgasm, love your nickname by the way. Thanks for your kind words.
Update coming soon!!
Thanks AustenFM. And I'm guilty for not updating for like two months. I've been busy painting. It's coming soon!!
Abrodos, you are too kind. I definitely have my heart set on traditional side too where I get to feel the paper and except all of my mistakes. No undos there right? I've been painting a lot lately ergo less sketching. But! Update is coming!!
Kristo Novo, thank you! I'm definitely pushing myself to get better at brush work. More to come!!
Hello aliciad33. I'm glad you mentioned color because that's exactly why I haven't update this thread for a long time. I'm getting there! Coming soon
NoodleDoodle, thanks a lot! I love doing caricature although it's got nothing to do with what I do professionally. I'm glad you like them too.
Warforce17, that is so sweet! I'm delighted to hear that.
I've been busy painting, submitting stuff for expose and spectrum and all.
I definitely want to update soon so..see you around! Thanks!
Thank you all.
Update coming soon!
It's been awhile eh?
So I understand I should use finished work forum for these updates but I'm not quite ready with my painting collection yet.
Until I get all my paintings done around May, I'm going to keep them here.
I hope you guys don't mind

A lot of life in your work, man! Sometimes the faces seem a bit wonky and lacking structure at times but it still retains a certain quality to it that I can't quite nail down. The texture you get and the color choices you make are really pleasant to the eye. Lots of things to excite the vision! Very cool! I'll be looking forward to much more from you!
Awesome colours! Chun Li looks great!
i love your designs they are realy fantastic cool
Good to see you back dude, have been waiting for an update from you for a while now, and you don't disappoint. I really like those coloured pieces, I have a little crit though, the female heads are very similarly posed in all three of the paintings. They look real good though, will be cool to see what you're up to with the next paintings.
Zebz, thank you for your kind words! I'm still learning a lot about basic anatomy and facial structure.
The good news is that I'm getting better everyday. I'm working on few pieces that are very different.
I'll make sure to share them here as soon as i'm done!
bigus_dickus, wuh bookmarked! Awesome! Thanks!
Thanks, kidult. ChunLi is definitely hot!
destinyapocalypse, thanks a lot! More to come!
Nubb, pure candy you say- You are too generous. Thank you!
Good to see you too again PieMonster, thanks!
I totally understand what you mean. I'm working on three paintings right now
and they are all very different. Let me put them up as soon as I'm done.
Geez, bloody awesome mate. Love yer work. Blue sketches are brilliant.
Keep posting the world needs you.
Really enjoy your work mate, Lovin the caricature's and illustrations.
The only thing I notice is sometimes there's some perspective problems in you more complex work, but what do I know.
Really cool stuff, What kind of line of work are you in if you don't mind me asking?
thanks for sharing,
I love the colors in the last paintings. Your blue pencil work is so clean. Mine tend to be a bit messy. I enjoy looking at your caricature too.
Make a sketchbook happy, feed it a tip to improve!
doncam, thanks a lot! I'll make sure to keep them coming! Cheers
JailHouseRock2, thanks! You are probably refering to my environmental piece there. I agree. There is an unsettling weirdness in that perspective. Hopely I'll get better soon
[LITTLE-FEET] , thanks!!
Pigeonkill, blue pencils are awesome aren't they? Thanks for your kind words.
Sketching KillBill and Departed in Drew Struzan manner.
Oh captain my captain you are my hero Drew.

Here is a quick update on some of my wip.

Amazing stuff, Dave.
Your use of colour and use of texture is very inspiring.
And I love your designs.
May I ask, though, you always seem to draw one eye bigger than the other, especially with the girl that you keep drawing. - is that intentional?
It doesn't appear on you Departed and Kill Bill posters, though. - Big Drew fan myself by the way
Can we get some higher res versions of your Lafayette tree linework?
Again - awesome! I have made a DaveK inspiration folder on my drive - hope you don't mind
I always love the feel of your work.
Chupacabra, thanks man
AlexTooth, you are too kind. Thank you. Trying to work on personal pieces outside of my work is definitely challenging.
Thanks, KonnA. I used to do a lot of gouach and oil but these days they are mostly blue pencil and photoshopL
That means a lot to me, WhiteC. Thank you kindly!
Wow Deon, I'm honored. Thank you so much for your kind words.
That's interesting you should mention about the eyes because one of my coworks just came and corrected me on that too. It's crazy how I didn't see it before. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!
Good to see you, MJ_Alcazar. Thanks, always!
Here is another piece that I just started working on.
The original piece is done in gouache on illustration board.
After three years, I've decided to finish it off digitally.
Work in progress!!

Awesome updates! You know I'm happy to see more of those fine-lined backgrounds of yours. And that update of your old work is really great, though it looks like you could really improve the hand resting against the tree given how much you've improved in the last 3 years. Either way it looks great.
Very nice work, great to see beautifully-realised fantasy scenes, they're very vibrant and have alot of brightness to them. Oh and the movie portraits are great too.
My sketchbook, if you really want to see it...
"Picasso is a painter, so am I;... Picasso is Spanish, so am I; Picasso is a communist, neither am I." - Salvador Dali
AustenFM, thank you! We are definitely on the same page about that hand.
You will see it on my next update. I'll try and post more of those line works too soon. Thanks!
kagemusha22, I appreciate it! More fantasy scenes to come!!
I'm loving your style, especially the color
