Pretty much what the title says, this isn't so much of a sketchbook as it is a warehouse for my work once I get around to making digital copies of it. Updates will be erratic since I tend to want to compile my work in lumps, but when I do update it'll be several images at a time.
This thread will also be short lived, seeing as in two months I am due to ship out for the US Navy. I've got 8 weeks of RTC (boot camp) followed by ~18 months of program training, so I'll be dropping off the face of the earth come May. Once I get through RTC and settle into my new location for program training, we'll see if I still have time for art and whether or not I revive this thread.
For the time being though, I've been drawing and painting my ass off trying to make the most of the time I have now. :)
Notes on Content and Materials
Most likely there will be one of three mediums presented here:
Ink drawings on standard sketchbook paper, nowadays I do pen-work only over a pencil underdrawing but occasionally I might have a brush drawing to show. I use Speedball Super Black India Ink and Hunt nibs #102 (Crow Quill), #107 (Stiff Hawk), and #108 (Lithographic Bronze).
Watercolor paintings on Arches Cold Press 140 lbs. 14"x20" paper in block form. I use M.Graham brand watercolor paints Azo Yellow, Azo Orange, Phthalo Green, Phthalo Green Yellow Shade, Phthalo Blue, Anthraquinone Blue, Quinacridone Red, Quinacridone Violet, Transparent Red Iron Oxide, Yellow Ochre, Ivory Black (gouache), Titanium White (gouache).
Pastel drawings on newsprint with Daler-Rowney brand dry pastels Burnt Sienna 4, Intense Black, and Yellow Ochre.
Occasionally I will also post up some old stuff of mine that may have been scanned but never uploaded or was part of some activity on this site that I'd like to place with my other work.
