Beautiful, lovely update. It's a good thing to practice variety. I like Mrs. Epicbrows best, nice subtle shifts in her skintone, very sensual eyes.
I wish you a successful year 2013.
Lyraina - Hey, I didn't recognize you with your new avatar. Thank you. Indeed, it forces you to think more when drawing, which is something I still have to remind myself to do. Thank you and likewise.
Elias Leonard - Thanks
Working on different bodytypes.
Also playing with water coloured pencils. Trying to get over my stupid fear of filling my sketchbooks.
Hey nice gallery you have here I really liked viewing the character designs and pose artworks, I really need to work on it and I think it's difficult so...my respect to you! Keep up the great works=]
Hey, some great characters you have, beautiful faces. Although i think you should go out of your confort zone, try landscapes and still lifes. Anyways, keep it up!
Letty- Thank you I'm glad your like my character designs and poses. It's indeed difficult, I still have a lot to learn, just keep on studying and practicing.
Here's a Lara Croft sketch, I'm thinking of entering the Tomb Raider Reborn Contest over on dA.
mehran- Haha that's the first time I've heard that, I'm glad they can inspire you, Thanks! =D
Laggtastic- Hey, thanks! Ah yes, the dreaded comfort zone, I'm going to have to work on that!
And here are some sketches and studies, thanks for looking!
Oo nice characters! I like your style
I've been doing research on 16th and 17th century art and fashion for a personal project I'm working on.
These pieces are inspired by that.
Portrait I started today. Trying to apply what I've been studying.
At some point I want to paint the 4 main characters together, but for now I'll keep doing portraits and character sheets to figure out their looks.
Another character concept
Fallenangel -Thanks man, I will!
AMPNate - Thank you, I'm happy to hear that!
Can't stop looking at your Lara Croft sketch, it already has so much character in it, the skin looks so rich! But then again, I adore most of your characters and portraits
The last study looks a bit irritating at first, even though I guess you painted everything right - but the color from his hand at her back is so similar to the background color that it really looks like I see the background instead of a hand covering her hip. And this would really mess up her anatomy! At a second look everything is fine though
The bust is very lovely!
By the way, can you recommend any websites or other sources for researching historical fashion? Or do you just google around & look at old master paintings?
Sketches, Thumbs & Studies
Lyraina Thank you, that's great to hear!
After painting the faces I grew tired of that still life, the hands should indeed be darker.
I can't recommend any good sites unfortunately. I just googled 16th century Spanish, Dutch and English painters and found a list on Wikipedia and continued from there.
I also recently went to the Rijksmuseum to get some inspiration from the great masters. "De Nachtwacht" by Rembrandt was truly awe-inspiring.

Hope to find friends here
Hey, I just wanted to drop by and say I really like your work here, these two are pretty sweet, (especially the hair on that second one), they really have personality. oh yeah, and I like the way you paint skin tones and your colours too. Keep it up with your characters and studies, just keep on trying to make everyone better than the last and try to push yourself (which I'm sure you're already doing anyway lol) Awesome sketchbook
Protsenko - I've definitely noticed the inconsistency in my anatomy. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll keep working on it!
redidge - I'm always happy to hear that there's some personality in the faces I draw, never sure if it comes across well. Thanks for the words of encouragement!
Beautiful, so so beautiful. I love the shapes and the lighting and everything
