Great figure sketches
Wow! A very nice progress you've made over the two-year period!
Love your sketches and pencil drawings.
Keep up the good work. Good luck, man!
Great sketch book!
Silwynar: ahh nooo don't study me! D: I'll only lead you to being bad haha thanks
PieMonster: Yeah, I'm still trying to find that middle line between construction and gestural swooshy lines, thanks
Been doing all my studies, and also got some freelance work that I don't really know if I can show or not
Figure from photo
Some master studies from my free between lessons..some really great books at my college
A bit of Loomis
Some rocks from life, for Observational Drawing class
And a photostudy I never got round to putting any time into and giving up one...will do better next time!
good stuff bro. the master studies are looking schweet
DTP: Thanks man
Here's some sketches done from around a day out in Windsor with college..excluding the stuff thats even worse than these haha. Done in a shitty little a5 sketchbook we made..the paper was quite poor
Some sketches of the castle pencil and pen
Some of the street in pen and ink
Some from the park, in pencil and sharpie. The red is just ink from another thing I did seeping through but it still looks sorta cool haha
You might say its shitty, but I still enjoyed looking at your latest sketches. It's always weird how your own work always looks different in someone elses eyes
The master studies in the post before this one are looking more than great, by the way.. I never seem to use white pencil.. I think my paper is too light for it anyway.. But, whatever I really like those!
The lines of the sketch of the "picture from photo" also look very sharp and nice! The part where it isnt shaded looks like you didnt even take your pencil off the paper
Man this SB is great the difference between the first and the last page is stunning! keep it up man!
Thanks for sharing the pencil pages. Post more of them, please!
SnobbyOo: no you rock cheers
Miles_: cheers buddy
In a bit of a rush so can't say much
Some stuff from mind
A still life of this metallic flower thing in my lounge
And some thing I've been working on a bit... his skin looks too red and dark D:

Wow, I looked through your entire sketchbook. You've improved a ton! Makes me want to knock out as many things as you do a day, hah.
Keep up the good work, I see so much improvement every page.
this last guys right hands too small and his pose is pretty stiff ;_;
maybe you should try and use the bougeuru skin tones on him, think about why he would be what color he is, like is he surrounded in red dirt? is the light on him red? why would he be that red? the bg is blue in this so youd automatically think hed be cool colored, unless your wanting his contrasting because of design but you said hes too red
put as much time into rendering into your studys as you do for your imagination pieces, the beugeuru lacks that rendering skill that you have, altough it is really really nice
cool sketchbook too, you made that y ourself? i like the toned paper! i think i'll make a sketchbook some time! C:
keep at it sammyc!
You've improved freaking tremendously
your latest digital paints are looking wicked man. i'd say watch the right wrist of the latest guy, at the moment it looks like one long arm with fingers rather than an arm and a hand.
can i be really anoying and ask which pencils you used for the sargent and thomas lawrence studies? 2b/3b?
like your latest upd!
Your work ethic is immense, especially for this young age. You started at 14 wow - what was I doing then and you kept up the hard work in such an early age - truly admirable! Keep going!!!
My SB: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...10#post2880210 - I'm a beginner, so please have a look
MechanicalZilla: Thanks man!
ryanoir: Yeah the Bouguereau was just a colour study really Thanks
LAL: Thanks man
Benjie: Haha it's really bad, I'm just re-watching them all for the sake of nostalgia. It's going to start seeping into my work so badly lollll thanks brudda
Raffix: Cheers for the advice man, didn't notice that D: and I only ever use HB, I figure with enough control you can get the contrast you want by pressing really hard when you need to hope that helps
fenixx: Thanks a lot man
MadisE: Haha well I was only 14 for a few months after I started, haven't really been doing this art stuff for that long cheers
Here's some stuff I've done since the last update. Most of it is for college there's quite a bit I haven't scanned because its so much effort to scan a3 haha
close-ups from life
Hands from life (I suck at scanning a3 lol)
Skull from life
Playing with watercolours, the scanner made the colours to garish
A wasps nest from life, it was so difficult to even look at all the layers and values, let alone try and render them
Experimenting with ink and bleach
Negative space studies from life in a3
And a sketch
A quick bumskee study I did because I didn't want to feel lazy haha
And this week's CHOW I've been working on, but I think it looks sort of shitty (especially the Moon) so I doubt I'll post it in the finals. Will probably keep doing these though
Cool idea. Character lightning is nice, spec on the sun. But the earth feels somewhat out of place. like the light is coming from o wierd place.
Still nice painting though
Wr00m: I feel you about the planet Thanks a lot man
Some life stuff in my moleskine
And then some doodling
Some stuff for my Ideas and Concepts class. These were drawings to music.
The first is to Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley
and this was to Purple Rain by Prince
Some rubbish I did in acrylic, theres like no highlights
A study of Michaelangelo in pen
And some studies of Tai-Shan Schierenberg in photoshop, very very difficult
Looking good, enjoyed the choice of line placement on this. My advice for the studies would be to slow down a little on the measurement and construction, really focus on polishing one or two, the skills transfer pretty well to your work from imagination.
This page, and those apples are aaaaace.
