ok spending more time with photoshop working with coloring water some. wish i had different brushes though. tell me which one u like. i gonna stick with coloring water for a week or so till i get better
I prefer to make my own brushes. For example draw 4 different types of waves, varying in size and make them into brushes and use these brushes to draw the water.
Do you look at reference photos when drawing? If not, do so! Print them out so you can look at it all the time when drawing.
You draw waves at the horizon... normally you don't see waves at the horizon because the waves get smaller and smaller when they are further away. The horizon is so far away you only see a clear line.
While you do draw waves at the horizon, I miss them at the other places. Draw big waves at the bottom of the drawing and make them smaller and smaller as you get further away. This will add depth to your drawing. Make sure to vary in size and color. Some waves should be darker than the water and some should be lighter.
The 2nd pic is a good base (if you chance the horizon), try adding some waves to it.
actually there not waves i just couldnt draw a straight line with a circle brush still trying to find a thing where i can just draw a straight line, until then i using a circle brush.
thanks for crit as for reference i used real life photos, aswell as peoples drawings to see how they did things aswell as how things really look.
