Aaaaaand I am back! And so are all of you! YAY!
FalconessN: Thanks for dropping in! I like that one too. Unfortunately, they had me go another way with it, but Still is at least a somewhat successful piece. See you around!
Since this has been down I have some updates. I'll try and get as much as I can (or remember to) in here. Some of the files appear to be a bit large so I may need to scale them down prior to posting. XD
Painted version! Gonna call this done. It is much larger than it needs to be which means I, again, went into too much detail. This painting stuff is so different. To used to drawing and need to have ALL the details. Anyway, here you go. The face is a bit off. Haven't decided what I wanna do to fix that.

holy crap man sweet progress around here, everything its so flashy and original, you remind me of dave finch, hes comic book inker, that styilized flavor its very nice but do get back to studying that way you will be way more comfortable with everything else, like the way you draw feet is always very flat and doesnt translate the way your pose is, or sometimes youre torso doesnt read well in perspective, this problems get solved trough studying, you cant draw something that you dont understand yknow? anyway try to at least do SOME studies to solve the parts that stand out as odd to you its all about evolving in the methods and ways you use keep it up!
agree with above some study of the shape of the body fully rendered would help you a lot.
on that last one the perspective of the face seems off some how and i'm not sure if it what you intended but i looks as if her breasts are resting on her abdomen.
i love the terran, zerg, protoss mix so awesome!
did you see the new heart of the swarm opening cinematic that came out today?
My life for Aiur! : D
lionheartGFX: Thanks for stopping by! I have prolly said it a million times, you are right. I need to do studies. In all honesty, I think that is my next stop when this piece is done. Get back to the basics and bone up more. Thanks so much for dropping in and offering the critique. Best thing for me!
wolver: I appreciate the attention, Wolvar. So, I think some of what you said rings too and some is because it is really just outlines. Not an excuse, but I have seen your work and you prolly have show early stuff only to have someone go, "Where is their arm? Is it coming out of their stomach?" The last one I did here is kindy proportionally 'off' on purpose. Not totally, but some of it. The face is supposed to be looking down a bit. The chest is actually under that first belt crossing over. I imagine some of the difficutly is because the figure isn't male or female. Hips are female, rest of the torso is mail. Of course, looking at a model we would be looking for breasts because of the silhouette. That is something I am trying to really push for the final, make it easier to read.
Speaking of which! I have an updated version of this for you all. Not done. And I know I have 'bad process' for this. Using too small a brush. But too late to turn back now! you all, and thanks for the comments!
Most recent. It feels empty and, while I am proud that I finally got some semblance of an environment done; the end result really isn't going to work for what I want it for. Back to the drawing board!
Man, been a while. As I sort through what I have and have not posted, I wanted to put up the most recent. I decided to put upon myself to do some style explorations. This was to serve a number of purposes. The primary was to push myself into doing styles I am otherwise uncomfortable with. This is the first go. It also was meant to push me away from doing original design and really study the design principles of someone else and make them work in another style. I wanted to ensure that I was learning as much as I could. So here they are! Or at least some of the earlier ones. The original subject was Sabin Rene Figaro of FFVI, and I extended it lovingly to Cyan Garamonde. Original design by the amazing Yoshitaka Amano.
Havent got any crits at the moment sorry
Crits and help of any kind are more than welcome!
Avon: Thanks for coming by! I appreciate it.
Just a sketch for a new one. Still playing on style to see what I can get away with and what my brain can handle. Even if I crater it has been a learning experience doing these. Here is the sketch for one of the more recent. And yeah, the colors did strange things here, not sure what that is completely about but it is gonna get fixed.
Continued work. Added some more area for Clyde (right side) and did some touches on the background. Still not done but I am hoping to be 'finished' with it on the next pass or two.
