jsn Thank you!
Thanks a lot everyone, glad you guys like my recent stuff. Here's another one, based on mistborn again. Last piece I was able to finish just before the Rising Stars deadline. Anyone else enter their work?
This started as a typical old school fantasy illustration but eventually ended looking like a comic book villain haha, guess there's no harm in merging the two genres? Steps below!
Cool tutorial man, it's always interesting to see the mind at work.
Holy shit thats amazing!
Love the last piece, you're right its like a cross between Spawn and a fantasy villain. Love the texture and rendering! I submitted to Rising Stars as well, but knowing you did as well dashes my hopes haha! Good luck!
Lovely step by step ~ and a cool character & he must have a grip of steel given the muscles in his lower arms
Save the sexy light, energy and texture the torso/trunk and the hand are my favorite parts I think, and the glasses.
Keep it as its wonderful to visit ~

carakhan Thanks man! There are plenty of spots open, don't lose confidence just yet!
Ludic Hey thanks! I agree, I was looking at some of marko's stuff for inspiration, and one thing he can do really well is turn the head in all different directions, getting really dynamic poses with the head and neck alone.
Fetsch Thanks man! Keepin my hopes up!
NickyBeats Haha I will man! Thanks!
Kungfoowiz Thanks man! I'm trying to bring the finish up on all of my work.

Velocity Kendall Yeah? Thanks, I suppose it's tough keeping the energy and gesture of a sketch all the way through to the final.
lancer_idenoure Thanks bro!
Reedux Haha yeahh, they I exaggerated them at the beginning and never felt like toning them down a bit. haha.
MarcSampson Thanks a bunch man! Glad you recognized it!
prsnsweeney Hey thanks man!
Jasper_ oh cool get up and work harder
Xelar Thanks! You're right! You've inspired the portraits in this next post, gotta keep workin on those faces!
Maerrick Thanks! It's difficult to say..my schedule is pretty erratic, sometimes I'll be at it for 12 hours straight, if I'm workin on a deadline, but typically it's probably about 4-8 hours. At least that's my goeal. Often times not even that much. Gotta work on that.
Metal Fingers You too man!
Reedux Ahh I have two youtube videos up, but I made them 2 years ago I think, so they're useless. I'll see if I can put some larger images up, maybe it'll help. Glad you dig my brushwork!
dan liimatta Thanks man!
Ok, here are just a few studies to kick off a new page. Definitely gotta work on faces more. And head construction junk. Trying some new painting techniques on these faces, just using a soft round brush and a hard square brush. I like the way it felt a lot, works really quick and gets a nice result.
Also, workin on sketches for another illustration, so should get those up for you guys soon.
lol self portrait. this was just shitty hard round. mirror
This one was pretty fast, 1-2 hours of relaxed painting.
Second try was much easier. Playin around with ways to draw hair. Close up as well, if it helps someone.
