I never really know what to type as an introduction to these things, i mean, in all fairness how do you some yourself up in a sentence?
Lets give it a shot, my names richard, but you can call me tank, im a 24 year old guy from norwich england and im on my 3rd year of a ba degree in games art and design.
Im specialising in concept art and storyboard design so hopefully that will be reflected in my work, if not im boned to be honest...
My work has more or less derived from my love of all thing sci fi and cult, probably like most troops on here, my main thing is star wars, but the list goes on from there, at a push.
games (lots of them)
kevin smith films
anything with zombies
ultimate x men
king of the hill
Im sure at this point you get the picture...
My art style is a mish mash of inspiration from several of my favourite artists, these include.
- Doug chiang
- Feng zhu
- Ryan church
- Tony moore
- Brian hitch
Also, a lot of my idea and thought processes for game pitches and the such come from written stuff of people like
- Robert kirkman
- Garth ennis
- Ed brubaker
- Jeph loeb
- Kevin smith
Its really only been in the last few years my work has gradually gathered more steam and become more consistant, i suffer from depression now and then and it cant tend to affect my work a lot, i tend to be the life and soul of any room im in and yet im very reserved and alone at the end of most days.
I dont know why im sharing that bit, guess it just helps to write it down sometimes.
But anyway, i present to you folks my work, i look foward to both positive and negative input, it all helps to build workmanship and chracter.
Also, here is a youtube video i uploaded of those storyboards put together as an animatic, it shows a childs transition from youth to adulthood.
