Awesome stuff. Got inspired. Thanks a lot!
two quick studies... i say quick the second one is a baldini study and took around 4 hours today could have gone further but going past my boredom freshhold! tried to recreate the piece to look as much like a traditional painting using photoshop!
Damn, this is awesome - I can only hit you with 5 and come back later for my words are failing me

You succeded in making the baldini study look traditional for sure! And man that last one is gonna look epic once you'r done with it.
as ive been moving on with the sketch im starting to dislike the conan figs pose not sure what would lend its hand to the comp better ive twisted the chest to the left in dark ink and the red lines are ideas for sword positioning ...any response to this would be appreciated!
Awesome stuff as always, man. No crits, but brainstorming on the conan pose.
(i'm borrowing a laptop so i can't really draw what i mean)
how about changing the legs so that his right leg (the one on screen left) is extended back all the way to the edge of the cliff--like he's doing a lunge. that leg can brace him against his shield and the mass of trolls pushing against him. you can keep the shield against his shoulder/body like you have it now, but with that leg extended it adds some more drama--one guy pushing back an entire horde.
then with the sword arm. i think the problem now is that it's in between--not extended in a thrust and not tucked back ready to thrust. if you get him down into that lunge, maybe twist his torso a little and "tuck" the sword handle back into his hip/side, it will give him a lot of dynamic tension.
so, i guess the action i'm thinking about is something along the lines of "conan, at the edge of the abyss, plants his feet and drives his shield against the horde, looking for the perfect opportunity to thrust his sword." my words here ain't great, but you get the idea.
awesome stuff again, man! happy new year. BTW, what brushes are you using in painter?

cheers ccsears just started out sketching a fig so didnt really think to much about the comp as usual just led on, but if im to go further im def gonna rethink the fig as u suggested cheers...i am funnily enough using one brush the whole way through as really its a sketch and dont waste time at this stage when getting a comp together with diff brushes... its a gouache brush that ive tweaked i switch from method-cover for col adjusting size for linework and airbrushy coloring, to method-grain for a pencil grainy effect on a really light col grey for drawing. its a great brush for quick drafting acts like a sable brush when small and really pressure sensitive! let me know if u need any helps in the presets but turn all to pressure and play around with the spacing and size.
this is beautiful =)

Delish, thanks for sharing the process! interrrresting viewing
yesterdays sketch that went on a bit longer than planned! around 4-5 hrs so far without ref! really wanna start a piece that i spend at least a few weeks with as im normaly doing quick pieces just to compensate for my lack of patience!!! think i better try change this!
Nice work on that last one dude!! Idk if it's what you were going for but that figure's gender seems a little unclear until you scroll down and see a hint of cleavage. Her feature seem a little masculine, but I think the lack of clarity sort of adds a lot of depth to the piece. Keep posting man you have a lot of great work in here!
I haven't seen your sketchbook before. And now I'm totally blown away. Awesome work, 5 stars just like that. Keep it up!
OMG dude,.. the last one O_O
This is totally irresponsible. I demand you put a warning in the title of your sketchbook: Warning: your head is most likely to explode when viewing my art.
Awesome work as always, and keep updating man, your work more then deserves to be shared! keep it upupup! (whats your mission if you don't mind me asking?)

surion: just on a mission to start putting some more thought and energy into pieces! ive been lazy, always producing pieces as quick as poss as im usually impatient and never really do much prep draft work first! generally im on a mission to constantly improve!
Beautiful work! : O I'm definitely sticking around for more.

without ref? Damnit! I need to be matrixuploaded to another skilllevel. Even with ref that piece would be great!
