yea really cool, i wonder wt techniques u used at first pic
Hi Cryoxzonomony and thanks
The under laying grey texture shapes you see are custom photoshop brush strokes step up side by side I then went over that with stock hard and soft brushes in different tones, and shades of red to get the blood effect, tossed in a bit of purple and dark blue for vains and a light pinkest red for the hights and tissue looking stuff.... lots of layers as I went to.. sometimes new layer for one stroke.
i see the custom brush alread, i can mostly only do photoshop "painting" like this: use bit dark background color, then using the brightening tool (or wtf it is called, i had previously english language version but now i have finnish version) several times, then using picture brush and some other shit. only problem than theres always remaining the pencil marks unless have to paint them
oh this was done freehand in photoshop I didn't use any scanned in line
drawing for it, just started laying down abstract basic shapes and went from there... this was not a planned work... just went with the flow kind of deal
well I've gone a little farther with the pencil redendering and fooled around with one texture brush for about half an hour and came up with Gigerbloatis, the story line goes like this
This rather sadly gruesome little creature was the result of a genetic experiment gone horribly wrong.
In 2185 a small amount of alien DNA was found deep in the polar ice of a near by astoroid around Setuis3. Showing remarkable qualities, the D.N.A was mixed with several type of earth speices in the hopes of creating a new type of life form able to handle deep space mining operations... The result was this horrific, and useless collection of bone, tissue, tendons and organs. Haveing little, to no brain this creature could do little more then stand, it did this, locked up in a compound on the Gelites space depot for 267 years. In all the time it was studied very little was found out about it.. as everything known to modern science would suggest that this creature should not be alive as it had no known means of feeding itself or breathing.
It's internal systems made no logical sense as nothing was connected to anything else. And yet it lived sitting in one spot not moveing an inch for 267 years.
35 mins of playing around with one texture brush.

ya that seems to be a common statement about my stuff (the anatomy)
what I'd like to know is where it needs improvement? I don't have access to a collage that has life drawing here.. I'm not in school. can't afford to go to collage for more training... And I find trying to do studies off pictures rather limited. Thanks for the advice, and about silent hill..I'd play the first one of that game many years ago, but not seen the newer ones. I should take a look at their stuff. Thanks again!
nope have not been there
and ya I'll look into the books
