That's awesome, dude! The third picture from the top is now my wallpaper.
i was never a huge fan of your portraits but WOHA!
the other things are really really nice.
dont get me wrong, the portraits are good and a fine exercise..
but the more graphic works are so much more creative and unique.
very cool and unexpected
hot shit, jake that stuff is so outstanding, and i see progression in your style with every new piece of art. that is so cool!
Do you know what? I REALLY love your style in these illustrations. I remember seeing lots of your portraits of you and I think, your girlfriend? But I prefer these!
There's something about these colourful images that I find so endearing. It's so stylised and crazy. It reminds me of the style used in off the wall cartoons such as Ren and Stimpy created by John Kricfalusi.
I can imagine these being published in a small book, and think they would great as a collection.
I know that this almost 'child-like' rendering isn't everyones cup of tea but personally I think it has a lot of charisma and charm.
Jake, little brother, you`re getting crazier and crazier every passing day... your style is evolving and taking shape, and getting tighter. your visions are peculiar and magnificent. you`re an artist, in the greater sense of the word.
I absolutely love it all. awesome work.
You 5 stars for me Jake. Awsome stuff!
I will buy your "Jack Napier" T-shirt in a second ! Great bunch of pictures, Jake, you're a damn' young badass.
Man, I rarely come in this part of the forums, and this is what I miss! It's crazy! But there's something fun about most of those pictures. The lines...there's patience, but I see more energy! The sins are like...they're NUTS!! My goodness!! @_@
So! Heh! Awesome work!!
jakey! thats some tight work right there! congrats on your book, i myself am about to embark on a childrens book written by an author i met by chance, so i hope to be on the shelves soon also. ill keep an eye out for your work, but failing that, i want a signed copy sent to me. kthx.
Lovely lovely work Jake! I really dig the direction your work is taking.
5 stars from me!
All the usual jake radness and more. I love the book cover design; simple, but it looks f'n fantastic.
whoa, Jake. you sure found a very interesting, amusing and absolutely cool deep end to jump into! kudos for the guts to reach into the dark a bit and bring some of it to light in an original fashion.

nice. i'm really digging on some of the free form feeling on some of these images. particularly like the "desire" piece and the last one.
COME SEE ME!
-= and this is where i have my blahblahblog=-
very well done brother!
very cool work jake,
I have a few questions(asspats later)
How much time do you get to draw balanced with school, is it a lot less than last year?
2ndly, the printed portraits in this pic http://www.jakerolfe.com/temp/BOW/art_wall.jpg
how does the quality compare with looking at it with a moniter, what paper did you print it off onto? Photographic paper?
Your style is progressing so far, I predicted last year you would be big, remember?
small crit http://www.jakerolfe.com/temp/blog/IMG_0002.jpg
instead of using tons of lines on him, use some blacks and work the whites from that, too much detail=overkill, especially since your style is very graphic
Mr. Jake! very well done sir, Truely fascinating in every way. Such an illustrative mind you got bro, keep it up!
hey Jake! Awesome work! man I still can't beleive you are only 16, well maybe 17 now, but holey crap! I love the blue boy in the purple mountains. !!
keep rockin it man, keep pushing and don't let up. Your work is evolving over and over and just let it go where it goes. I think your more rendered work will combine with your more graphic stuff into something better than either seperately.
keep us updated on the booklet.
ok, this is a bit weird, but you appeared in my dream last night.
We were both in some foreign country at an art store and somehow I recognised you through your self portrait..
Weird I know, your work must have some sort of resounding effect on my subconcious.
