  • I like this stuff a lot ! 5 star stuff!

Its something missing though, like smooth areas , everything seems bit sharp or something, I can't put my finger on it... it looks like you leave areas out while other are very sophisticated and rendered etc.

Keep it up please, great stuff!

    composition suggestions...

a good rule of composition is that you never divide anything in half unless you have a formal reason for it (like a poster, religious format, orthographics, etc.) so when you look at your composition and the joints of the figures, points of interest, where the objects meet the picture border, etc. it is usually a good idea to make sure that you're not dividing the picture in two.

i can see at least 4-5 cases where you did that above. (i do this subconsciously myself when i'm not careful, so i'm also a victim of my own advice.)

the reason for this "rule" is that your mind is very, very, very good at dividing things in half or noticing symmetry. abstractly, our minds are drawn to it almost as a geometry problem. whenever you divide something in half or close to it, your picture will seem more flat and will have less depth; it will read more like an abstract diagram.

again, the reason to break this rule is when you're trying to use an awe-inspiring higher intelligence aspect in your work--like the black rectangular monolith of the movie 2001, or religious images of buddha, jesus, hindu gods, etc, or highly-designed formal subjects like architecture or machinery. only use it when you have a reason or it will appear "unnatural."

again, i catch myself making bad composition choices all the time, so it's not like i don't realize how tough it is. but this is an important consideration when you want to make really strong images.

nice sketches though. keep up the good work.
