You did well to do that with a mouse. Sweet face.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

    update 1

Holy hell - life gets in the way
Sorry for the long absence - still drawing on the side - just haven't taken time to dip a toe back into the digitals.
Just trying to remember how to paint. Hope everyone is having a good start to the week.

no excuses!! haha but in all seriousness, you're showin improvment, i'd suggest attempting to blend the strokes a little more, or possibly using an "oil" style rush if you wanna that brushed look.

try using the hard round for a while and see how it goes for you

    keep posting!!

    ...the imperfections make it interesting...

    Kawasaki update

Totally ripping off Audrey Kawasaki - but damn if it's so much fun to try!! Really want to try this medium in real life -
I actually surprised myself and did the original with my mouse - the outlines I did with my WACOM and started messing with color and shading.
Trying a new process that is really making this much easier (for coloring and blending)
    Work in progress -

Going to stop messing with it for now - fun little project to try. I would really like to try this (real world) Wood with graphite and oil.

    Ubuntu Krita Brushes

Just wanted to share - awesome fun brushes in an art application on the Ubuntu OS. I haven't found them anywhere else but I'm looking! There is a 'sketch' pen/tool that completes and fills in/shades in corners and curves. SO NICE to get quick ideas and just to have some fun.

There are sketch versions, shaders, paint variants - tons to play with. Even a Wire and a furry vartiant.

Unfortunately you need to boot up in Linux/Ubuntu and use the Krita art program to do it, but I share out the images and can work with them in painter or photoshop on another computer (or dual boot).

Anyway, just wanted to share some of the brushes - these are all variants of the Sketch brush - and yes you can customize them!!
*Bit of a learning curve, but if you are creating brushes in other programs you catch on quick

    new idea

Just a quick sketch of an idea - underwater swim/nude - no ref in painter.
I don't post a lot and thought I should start including my sketches and ideas instead of after I go through that whole process and start working.
Enough jibber jabber - hope your week is going good

    KRITA
Not to keep pimping them, but damn what a fun little art program (and it's freaking free folks) - at least check out the "Sketch" tools - they are awesome for quick ideas!
    http://www.krita.org/
*It will run on any version of windows - just go to "Downloads" and look for:

"This is the stable version of Krita. It still has some bugs peculiar to Windows and to Microsoft Visual C++. It will run on any version of Windows, from XP up.

    Download Krita 2.5"

    Sketchbook Pro

Love playing with new programs - this one I bought a while back and came back to. Linux has some really fun art programs but I had to jump back to windows for a while with this one.
Just having fun - weird floating mop girl and a quick 10 min portrait of a buddy.

This is something I did back with Krita during breaks at work. Mouse only (actually can get really steady with just a mouse but I still prefer my Wacom) Just feels more natural.
