    Nice start! Designs are looking creative and I see you've worked on human proportions but here's a bunch of crits: Try to stay out of 100% white and black in shading, at least in painting. It usually gives a very artificial look as those colours really aren't as common in reality as one would think (and they take from the freedom of deciding the hues for extreme highlights and shadows). I think for your alien sheet in the first post for example, a greyish orange in place of the whites would've looked more convincing. Good figures on the second post, I like the pen hatching though the flames coming from the wizard's hands would look less confusing on a dark background IMO.

    Try to learn controlling line weight too and use it to make things pop up, like the bird's arms should pop against the further wing and just keep drawing!

    More sketches

    Here are some of my more finished pieces. The first pic is the main character from the legacy of kain series. The second is pinky of Doom 3 and the last one i did myself.
