    Rodimus25 Sketchbook

    Hello,

Thought it'd be nice to get posting regularly with a sketchbook on C.A.

    Abit about myself

I work as a concept artist in the games industry, in a studio here in Brisbane, Australia. My original background is in animation/digital-compositing. I've been in the industry for roughly 6 years now- 3 years as a concept artist in the games industry though.

Anyway that'll do for now... here are some pics. Will try to post images regularly

First piece was done bout a month ago... topic was "spiderman..." (for the work blogs) Tried to come up with something unique and diff... more monster and freak instead of you're comic book stuff.

The last 2 pieces were entered into Character's of the week concepts;p Chow's 72 Apocalyptic Scavenger and Chow 73 Soul Collector.

    Medium for x 3 post: Photoshop CS2.

Will post up some sketches next... just gotta get round to scanning them though

Here are some sketches done during lunch time at the local coffee place, gloria jeans. We spend about 1 hr sketching, so mainly get through 1 - 2 pages

The first one? Really? I like it, but I like the two following probably more. All nice though. I like your hit n run sketches from the coffee shop. Good idea.

I'm envious of your ability to so easily draw people in real life. I can't do it for crap shit. I need way more time and they move way too much.

Donovan V: Thanks, its amazing what cool textures you can come up with custom brushes

lifeizshort: Yeah it just kinda started up with a group of us, so been trying to go regularly when not busy.

n1va: thanks, i'm glad you like

28chelseaslater: people do tend to move alot, the best method is to get down a quick line of action, then fill in details later... (i'm still working on that though!), practice makes perfect... or kinda

Heres some more scans from my sketchbook enjoy!

Oh I love sketching from life at the city. Great to see these. Wish I would be able to go out more often. Try using different media, like pens or markers. Should add more fun, hehe.

    cheers

First up is some old photoshop doodles done last year. Hmmmm actually just random stuff, one is of ball players, my rendition of Conan, chic wit guns and a pic of a running bald chic

Awesome. Dig the cafe studies a lot. The demon pirate is wicked cool but the 1st post is still the best. The soul collector is clutch, my fav so far. Sweet color pallette. Thanks for sharing, nice stuff.

    Stop by my SB sometime.

    Watch out for Piranhas
