RPG Game weapon designs and some more concepts. Big DL

Game is out already and i think i can freely post them here...
I've worked on these weapon and other item designs for about 6 month... but haven't heard yet critiques from professionals.
actually i'm happy only with ~40% of them...
So it would be nice to hear what designs you like most... this info may become valuable to me.

also added some concepts. Hope maybe atleast someone will like em )

    Woah, that's pretty awsome. :o
Where do you get the inspiration for all the designs?

Wow, thats all awesome! Love the armor designs most. Makes me want to play the game, too. I think its definetely the right direction for the designs.
The spiked mace with the hooks is scary.

I think some of the designs feel a bit heavy/bloated in the decorative aspect.

They feel like they're more decorative 2D lines than 3D objects... they don't quite become tangible in the 3rd dimension, because they elaborate only in 2, to the point where they become a bit bloated, yes. I am referring to staff heads in particular. But maybe they have to be this way if they're icon sized and needs to be recognizable.

I agree with this to some extent, but these type of designs have always been sort of a staple of fantasy RPG games, and I believe that such designs to convey a more fantastical flavour.

These are beautiful designs! Love all of them.
I haven't heard of this game, however. I'll be on the look out for it now.

Thank you guys for a replies. i'm glad that you like it.
Inspiration cоmes mоstly from other games(DiabloI-II, Lineage2 and more), real historical weaponry, other artists, own thoughts.. same as usual...

And yes they are supposed to look decorative and recognizable because actual ingame size of icons even smaller than here..

What can you say about the last one sketch? did you like design or it looks funny to you?

you mean the thing with the spikey wings?
would be pretty fearsome as an endboss of some sort
cool if it was able to shoot something like lightning or spikes which grow in his arms
one of his horns being a lot biger then the other one isn't so good looking
    the wings are awsome

    The sketch is good.
The demon has a little belly though...maybe u did it with purpose, but I think thats why he looks like a "puppy" demon to me...either should be real fat, or really skinny... maybe this can help.

    Cheers

Awesome designs! I love looking at item sheets like these and comparing the designs, seeing how weapons in the same categories vary from each other, etc. I'm a geek like that.

holy crap that's a ton of weapons! Prometheus is kinda right, especially with the rods below the hammers. They're all squat, fat, and would look boring in a side view. Does it matter as long as the items are tiny icons that players pick up? Maybe not, but they would still be neater if they weren't so obviously designed without a z-axis sensitivity. I think that's why I especially liked the spellbooks though, since books lend themselves to that 2d ornamentation. That said, I don't think that the armor has this problem, so I'm sure you'll be fine if you just keep the 3d in mind a bit more with those weapons.

The creatures and character definitely don't stack up well next to the items. You have a nice attention to detail, but the basic shapes and anatomy of the designs need to be way more interesting. The demon prince looks silly and the other demon is so crammed with detail that he's hard to read. In fact, I end up looking at the weapons on that page since they're more interesting. The elf is probably okay for the sake of showing off armor, but he doesn't have to have a pose that boring, does he? It's like he's halfway between being a turnaround drawing and a posed design, like he should either be in anatomical position to show everything or he should have a sense of gesture in his pose.

Anyway, I like the gargantuan stockpile of items. Keep it up!

    Wow!
i couldn't ever dream about it- five stars! )))
Thanks Andrew, for a detailed review. Now i know and see where is my problems, i'll work on them harder.. posing, masses, gathering all details in one. And no more game assets, now i have some time to work on my drawing skills... )
