Nonie, you are my new hero! Ok, heroine then... thought I had visited your SB already but turns out I hadn't. Got a reallyyyy nice surprise seeing all the yummie stuff in here! Seems you can do it all - characters, monsters, modern weapons, landscapes, cityscapes, animals, people to no end... and in all kinds of medium, too! Envy, envy... you are just too good to be true. Added to favvies, show us more!

very nice gestural quality in your work. on the character: maybe the pose is a little bit awkward? It will be nice to see you finish it up. Keep on keeping on.

Hehe, cool, he looks like he walked straight out of a Final Fantasy game.
I really like the pallete/lighting, maybe you should work him up some more.

Lake - Heh yeah I was sneaking Do not underestimate the sneakiness.

Victor B twice! - Thanks dude and I will check out the new stuff post haste

Gus - thanks dude I'm gonna expand on that one, the response has been pretty positive

DragonSnail - wow, thanks! I still have lots to work on but it's all fun

Mitchell - yeah the pose is weird... he's supposed to be showing off spikes growing from his hands but they're small. I'll probably change the pose or put a little blood on the hands to help the read.

RandAlThor - thanks! yeah taiko's cool

Boho - too lazy to type so you have a new nickname... Thanks, yeah I was thinking of the Beatles Revolver cover, or at least how I remember it from when I was a kid.

walnut thanks, gotta say I enjoy the sketchup

rubadub - thanks I probably will work on that more.

*edit: good lord look at all those smileys. I apologize for my excessive friendliness!

Bus (jesus this new bus route is always so bumpy! lookit my lines going everywhere ) and meeting sketches, and I finally figured out how to send my DS Colors stuff to myself, but it's all kinda old at this point.

I liked the tea-drinking dragon and painted on it a bit. So here he is sunning himself and being warm on a cold winter day or something.

Haha, I love that dragon! Definately know what he is feeling..

Don't you find that drawing on a bus route like that makes drawing at other times seem that much easier? I always just reminded myself about how I managed to draw on the bus.. so there was no excuse =]

Really impressed with your art lately. Hope the job is super fun =)

Impressive stuff in this sketchbook and lots of variety to.

I really have to get that Colors thingie on my DS. The results are MUCH better than anything I whould expect from a free DS homebrew.

aph - thanks! Yeah bus drawing is a great exercise, can't stress it enough! And the job rocks, as usual

Mentler, Vic B, thanks for stopping by, guys!

Mark - thank you sir! This weekend was fun, and I'm going to make stir-fry tonight

pantless_wanderer - dude, Colors is a powerful little program. I keep seeing other drawing programs that look cool until you realize they don't have pressure sensitivity - Colors is still king

Lovely work Nonie! aside from working from general to specific, do you have a "set" working method for these "long" poses? Like do you start with some quick lines to indicate placement/proportion, or do you just go in with masses of color? Just curious,Thanks for posting!

oh and i adore the face the saturation in the shadow , the color on the nose, brilliant.

awesome. i agree had a great weekend. thanks again to you and jake for making it happen.
started getting more of that robot stuff down, hopefully have it up later this week.

Also, great job on the longpose, you handled the intricate designs well and the little bit of red in the face really brings her to life.

Wasker - thanks dude. She was high as fuck though and moved her head a lot

Vic - I usually do a little of both. I have made a gif for you, see attached. But I do a really quick line think before the color masses that I had painted over unfortunately. I was also working on that Garuda statue during the breaks, but each frame is just before starting the next pose (except the last one which was a desperate last-minute rush )

Mofta - Yeah I kinda went back and forth on that. I ended up deciding the placement of the light shapes was a bit more important and let the soft line of the head fade in and hopes the almost-kissing-edge would add a little weight to the top of the piece. But I dunno, maybe didn't work. Just an experiement

    Smokenmirrors - thanks

Mark - Thanks dude Adding the red in the face (I make the edges of all the skin shadows go warmer) is one of my favorite steps

    humanNature6115 - thanks!

I catch most of the updates in here, but never write anything for some reason. Got a kick out of the little karate animation, and the tea sipping dragon was just darling.
